[Rest]
We looked at Raven, hoping for a response from him.
He was looking pensively at the windows at his right. He wore a gray shirt matching tight black jeans that accentuated his chiseled features.
As expected of that snob. Looks like I need to do all the talking.
“All I know is this. I found myself alone inside our classroom because no one bothered to wake me up. I was about to go home when he-", I cocked my head to Raven. “-was running like the wind towards me with a monster tailing behind him. He grabbed me. Then we're trapped inside another classroom. The monster came bursting through. We escaped from the window. And you know what happens next. You?" I said.
“I see. Now, here's my story. I found myself on an open field. I got the twitchy feeling of going home asap so I went for the gate. Gate was all locked, not even budging. Then it was about to rain so I was supposed to go back inside the school building before I saw you two doing that daredevil trick." The rogue provided.
“What are you doing on the field?" I asked him.
He just shrugged his shoulders. Looks like he's not interested on telling why. So I ditched the question out by asking another one.
“Have you heard an announcement for early dismissal?"
“No. Why?" He replied.
“Where are the other students then? Why are we the only one left? This place is usually still crowded due to clubs and stuff."
“No idea." Will scratched his head.
We were silent for a while.
“Okay...So we got no clue why all of a sudden the school felt vacated, there's a depraved creature dilly-dallying around the school grounds, the damn gate won't budge without electricity AND most of the guards are not on their duty today." Will stated.
“What are you implying?"
“I am just thinking that this is some sort of planned conspiracy. I saw a movie with the same plot like this. First, they-"
“Wait wait wait. You telling me that someone intentionally trapped us here like in the movies?" I shot back at him.
“I am not saying trapped. Left out maybe. I don't know, Loris. I am just formulating wild conjectures. It's just really unsettling that... we can't escape this place as soon as possible. " Will replied.
“M-maybe the black-out is due to a storm so they dismissed everyone early. Maybe that's just a rare animal that escaped somewhere and eventually end up hunting in this place. Maybe most of the guards are not here because they took a day off or whatever..." I paused for a while, my conviction ebbing away.
“That looks like an animal to you?" Will responded.
I stared at him with dejection.
“So what are we supposed to do now?"
“Nothing. We are safe here so don't do anything reckless. Just sleep and stop talking non-sense. " Raven authoritatively interjected while securing the door.
Non-sense? He's so full of himself.
We stared at him for a couple of seconds before Will broke the ice.
“Yeah. Let's hit the sack for now. Maybe tomorrow we can get some answers or better yet, we can get the hell out of here. Besides, Peter can protect us from that thing with his gun." Will sighed in exhaustion.
He had a point. It's no use worrying. I was drained and all I want to do is to plump myself to bed.
But something hit me.
