It’s the year 2032, and things are… well things are good to put it basically.
Things have changed, the world has evolved, and we as humans, as people, have followed after it. Things that weren’t possible then are possible now and everything is advanced. Everything’s so advanced, that the advanced is becoming advanced.
Even here at Chrislum Academy, things seem so highly developed that, it seems normal. Chrislum Academy is the school I’ve been dorming at for the past seven years and I only have one more year to go, unless I choose to go to the on campus College and University.
“Hey, snap out of it Aleta!”
I blinked, to get out of my haze. Looking up, I’m greeted by seeing two light brown eyes only a few centimeters from my face.
I yelped jumping back and falling out of my chair.
“Gosh, that’s what you get for not listening to me. Now I’ll have to start all over about how my family was invited to the King’s Party.” The owner of the brown orbs sighed dramatically.
“Sorry, Maliha.” I groaned getting up.
Maliha is my friend of five years, class president, and the daughter of a duke. She was a sandy blonde, which should be considered a honey instead of sand but she insists on it, with the prettiest shade of brown for eyes.
Stepping back up to the desk, I made sure not to sit back down, in case I end up falling again. When I looked back at Maliha, she was staring at me pointedly.
“What?” I said innocently.
“Oh, don’t ‘what’ me. You need to stop spacing out,” she huffed “especially when I’m talking.”
“Ok, ok, sorry. I promise to listen this time. Continue- you got invited to the King’s Party.” I urged her on to continue what she was saying. Maliha wasn’t snobby, a little shallow at times, but definitely not snobby. She was more like strongly social, if that was even a term.
“Ok, like I was saying, this year my dad got an invitation to the King’s Party and the family is invited too, but the real dilemma is what I’m going to wear. I mean it’s the King’s Party! For heaven sake! I don’t go to this every day and…”
I zoned out, sorry Maliha. That’s right. The King’s Party, it’s coming up soon. The king has a King’s party every year to celebrate his reign, and this countries greatness. To me it was all stupid. See, things started to change or evolve around 2015.
From what I heard, I was born during an era of change. A new beginning per say. Apparently, elections for the new president were just a year away, and then there was this whole rebellion. It wasn’t just one country, but countries. They revolted against their leaders, their systems, it was so close to being a World War 3 but because it wasn’t, people have dubbed it as World War 2 and a half.
Now the United States of America was run by a King, King Ren. There’s a president, as pathetic as he is, because we all know that he doesn’t have any real power, he was just the people’s person. The one that was suppose to ‘relate’ to us, and find out ‘what’s bothering the people of the country’. Basically they sent him out to get people to think that out opinion matters.
Some people actually believe that they do, that they do matter. I don’t believe it. The sad truth is that it doesn’t matter how unhappy we are, the King will just do what benefits him. Of course if he doesn’t treat the billions of people who he rules with kindness, then there would probably be a World War 3, and it would be us against them.
