Let's Talk

It was an early meeting with the management for our movie. I am nervous of what could happen. I am just happy I could be with her again.

So here I am in front of the door of her dressing room. Today is our look test with Direk Cathy and I want to set things on the right pace. It's now or never, so I knocked on the door.

"Hi Tita Min, good morning po," I smiled as I saw and greeted her mom. Its been a while since I last saw her.

"Mo, anak you look very good. Laki na ng pinagbago mo, very young and fresh. So, kamusta ka na?" I was about to reply to her when Danica came out.

"Mommy, no need for small talks and compliments. We know Mo naman very well so I don't think its necessary. But I hope you are okay with me being your partner with this project," she said. Her mom and staff stepped out of the room and allowed us to talk.

I can see the sarcasm and feel that she's still mad about what happened.
"Danica, ac.." she interrupted and said, "Dani, please call me Dani."

"Ah yes siyempre Dani. Actually, I am happy to see you and I immediately accepted the project not only because of Direk and Inang but also when they told me that you will be my partner."

I asked her how she was and we talked about the project are thoughts and comments and how we think we should do it. She was not looking at me the whole time we were talking. That's when I realized I screwed up big time.

Someone knocked on the door and said, "Mo and Dani to the set in 10 minutes. We will start with the look test."

So she did final touches on her makeup and hair. I was just there looking I can't take my eyes off of her. She stood up and walked towards the door when I suddenly feel that I should do something. I can't allow are differences to affect her in this project. This is her big break that she has been waiting for.

I held her two hands firmly and said, "Danica, I'm sorry for everything I've done." I hugged her tight. But I withdrawn from the hug right away when somebody opened the door.

"Dani and Mo, are you guys ready? Let's start." Direk Cathy said and I followed her right away. Dani followed us after a few seconds.

After the look test I decided to go back to my dressing room. I was happy because after what happened earlier I felt that Dani allowed herself to just focus on our project. I hope it can be a start of rebuilding what we have before. I was about to leave the room when I saw her in front of the room.

"Let's talk." She held my hand and we returned inside the room.

"I don't know the true reason why you accepted the project. But I am happy you did because this is the big break I am waiting for. I am still confused what happened to us before. You're my closest friend and you are very special to me. But shit happens and one day you started not talking to me. You didn't even said your goodbye before I left. You stopped all communications I was hurt and am still hurting. Because you made a promise to tell me everything. And I know that you will not do it if you have a valuable reason. So I am choosing to leave that behind. But, I am not sure we can go back to how it was all before."

While she was saying this I can't help but be angry of myself why did I choose to do this to her. The only girl who believed in me, that I can be more.

I held her hand and looked her in the eye and said, "I'll take whatever you can give. We can take it slow. I am sorry for everything. I came back because of that promise."

"I don't need another promise Mo. I just need my friend back."

"I am here and now I choose to stay. Let's be friends again."

She hugged me and I can feel tears coming from her face. I just hugged her tight when I realized that I think I am five years late.
