*Reader POV*

It was every five-year-old's dream to one day become a superhero. On the weekends, Tenko and I loved playing superheroes in my backyard. He pretended to be the Symbol of Peace himself, All Might.
"DeLaWaRe sMaSh!!" He shouted before he jumped on me. I was uncontrollably giggling at his impression.

I was my own made up superhero. I proudly flaunted my imaginary abilities and my super cape to Tenko.
"That sounds lame or should I say SUPER lame," Tenko laughed at me and my DIY cape. I did not find it funny.
"Nothing can beat All Might!" He said proudly. My mom walked into the backyard with a pitcher of pink lemonade which she set on a glass table.

"Tenko, your dad's going to be here in a few minutes," She called. Both of  us didn't listen and kept playing. A few minutes later, Mr. Shimura walks into the backyard.

"Tenko!" He shouted

"Tenko!" He shouted. We were caught playing superheroes again. He begins to march in a B-line towards Tenko. I could feel the rage emanating off of him.
I need to act quick and be a hero for Tenko! I thought to myself. I stand directly in his path.
"Leave him alone!" I shouted. It definitely wasn't the right thing to say. Mr. Shimura shoves me out of the way and slaps Tenko.

*Time Skip Fifteen Years Later*

I snap awake from my daydream and enter back into reality. It was a quiet winter day. Snow was gently falling onto the gray city buildings. I was riding the train towards the Musutafu hospital for my afternoon appointments.

I work as a genetic therapist and have been since I was Eighteen. My quirk allows me to genetically engineer genes which can cure a range of diseases like cancer, hemophilia, heart disease, cystic fibrosis, and so on. However, my powers don't just end at genetic modification. I can also create new life with my own hands, using my own cells to replicate into whatever organism I want. I usually stick with plants and vowed never to create a mammal. I make an effort of keeping my powers a secret.

Controversy comes with the territory. More conservative, religious individuals say I shouldn't play god and spend hours in front of the hospital protesting against my practice. Other scholars speculate on my quirk's abilities and always prod me with questions. The rumors spread like wild fire in academia and in the medical field, and soon, it spread to the wrong people.
