*Reader POV*

TIME FOR THE GRAND ESCAPE! I took a pin out of my pocket and examined the door lock. If I can just push the pins down and keep tension on the lock, it should open. I find a screwdriver in the closet and use it to turn the lock while I scrub the lock pins down.

It opened!!
I slowly opened the door to see the hands dude standing in front of it. We make hand-to-eye contact.
Oh shet. I closed the door and pretended like nothing happened. He abruptly opened the door and kicked me to the floor.
"A**hole!" I scream and held my chest.
"They're feisty for a doctor," A man with black shaggy hair and burn scars covering the bottom of his eyes, neck, and chest walks in.
"We heard you can copy DNA and possibly replicate humans. Is it true?" The guy with the hands asked.
"I don't know what you're talking about," I reply. "All I can do is rearrange DNA."
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Easy way is cooperating and working with us. The hard way is us extracting your powers for our personal use. Either way, we get what we want," The boy with the scars says as he steps up to me.

I pause

I pause. I can't tell if they're bluffing. Does someone really possess that kind of power?
"And If I had this power, what is it that you want me to do?" I inquired.
"Have you heard about the monsters that are attacking the city?" The boy with the black shaggy hair asked.
He pulled out his phone to show me a newscast of a previous incident where monsters appeared around the city and attacked civilians. It took the most elite superheroes to try and stop them. The League wants me to replicate the monsters!
"There's no way I'm letting you do that," I stand my ground. "I'd die before I let you have my power."
The boy with the black hair grabbed my wrist. A blue flame appear on the tip of his finger.
"Looks like we'll do it the hard way," He said as he jabbed his burning finger into my arm. I screamed out and rolled on the floor.
"Leave us," The man with the hand on his face said to the boy with the fire quirk.
He lets go of me and waltzes out of the room.
"You're in trouble now," He said as he walked out.

*Shigaraki POV*

They're definitely strong and resourceful. I won't deny that, but I have to be rough in order to get them to do my bidding. I take Father's hand off my face and put it in my jacket pocket. I was prepared to take off a few fingers or maybe an ear if it had to come to that.
"Tenko?" Their voice softens. I look up from my jacket feeling confused and extremely agitated. That name is dead or so I thought.
"How do you know that name?" I asked in a stern voice. They stood up and walked towards me, holding their injured arm. I hesitated and back away even more confused. Our faces met inches away from each other.
"It is you," they said almost in tears.

*Reader POV*

Tenko, my childhood friend, was still alive after all these years. The happiest and brightest person I once knew was now a villain who has murdered countless victims. I looked into his glowing red eyes. Tears began to fall onto my cheek. I wanted to hug him but also run away at the same time.
"A-After all these years I thought you were dead," I cried. The tears couldn't stop and I continued to sob uncontrollably.

I remember the day when my mom told me Tenko and his family were gone. She told me that there was still a possibility Tenko was alive but he went missing. Shocked by the news, I put up "Have you seen this person?" signs around the city and I did so for two years. I needed to be the hero for Tenko. One day, I thought I saw him. A boy about Tenko's age was sitting in an alleyway. He had light blue hair and the same itchy looking eyes. I shouted his name,"TENKO!"
He glance in my direction. I knew that had to be him. I start running over to him but my mother snatched me before I could reach him.
"That's not him. That boy is scary looking," she said pulling me in the opposite direction.

*Shigaraki POV*

They sat on the floor crying loudly. I froze. What the hell do I do? My face started to sweat.
"Just shut up," I commanded. "I'm not the person I use to be. That boy is dead so you can call me Shigaraki Tomura from now on." I don't remember y/n and there is no use trying to figure it out.
They stood there in the dark bedroom thinking to themself.
"Do you remember who I am?" They asked.
"Not at all," I quickly replied.
They continued to stay silent. This is getting on my nerves.
Agitated, I tell them, "I'm going to bed. I'll give you until tomorrow night to decide."
I leave the room and locked the door behind me. Who is this person?

*Reader POV*

I gather my strength and collect myself. It's good that he's gone. It will give me time to develop another genius escape plan! However, there are some things that need to be sorted out. First, I am currently being held prisoner by the strongest villains in the city. Second, I just discovered my best friend is the ringleader.

I will help them make the Nomus, but once they're released, I can't let them hurt innocent people. I need to figure out a way to make them docile on command. I also can't leave Shigaraki here. It's a longterm goal but I think it can be done. However, if they discover I'm working against them I'm as good as dead.

Seeing Tenko in his current state left me feeling empty. My childhood crush was a ruthless leader planning a worldwide takeover. Impatient, short-tempered. The sweet and shy boy that had dreams of helping people had died with his family. Is the new Shigaraki a lost cause or do I still have time to save him?
