Aquila banged her feet together before she took a step out of the ashy fireplace with a sigh.  After a long shift that consisted of puss-filled sores and a case of purple feather vomit, she was in dire need of a shower and sleep.  Not that she'd get much, she thought with a snort.

She decided to pick up a 24 hour shift for tomorrow, which seemed like a good idea at the time, but now she was regretting it. Her legs ached from running up and down the stairs and she didn't even want to see what her hair looked like.

Aquila raised her shoulders and shook her arms to get out of her coat. She suddenly heard two soft voices echo off the cream walls of her apartment and rushed to draw her wand. With her jacket still on her right arm, Aquila reached into her healer robes and yanked out her wand.

Aquila shifted her wand between her fingers and extended her hand to grasp the sleeve of her jacket. Narrowing her eyes in concentration, Aquila tried to get out of her coat without any noise. She slowly laid it down on her coach and took a small, hesitant step into her kitchen. Taking a breath, she entered her hallway and raised her left hand in front of her. She turned her body to the side and smushed herself against the wall, attempting to give her attacked a smaller target to aim at. Her knuckles were losing their pink color with her deadly grip on her wand.  Aquila's actions were silent, but her chest ached from the drumming of her heart against her ribcage.  She forced herself to take long, deep breaths and face whoever was in her flat, no matter how much her mind was screaming at her to call for help.

She didn't want to lose control of her body and kept repeating that she was safe inside her head every couple steps.  Panic attacks were a familiar experience for her and she always believed that they were normal. However, after meeting Charity's pale face and frantic expression once Aquila's teary eyes refocused on her surroundings, she learned that they weren't a frequent occurrence for people.

Aquila paused in her position to the side of her bedroom door, took a breath, and shakily raised her right hand to grasp the cold, metal doorknob. You can do this, she thought right before she flung the door open and took a step into the room with her wand suspended in defense.

Hearing the sudden noise, the two intruders spun around from their position in front of her closet. Aquila let her shoulders drop as she felt her muscles unclench once she recognized the untamable mess of Charity's curly brown hair and Margo's bright blue eyes.

Her left arm went limp as she lowered her wand with a tired sigh.  "What are you doing here?!" Aquila exclaimed, rubbing her eyes with her unoccupied hand and throwing her head back in exasperation.

"White or blue?" Charity asked perkily.

"Uh- what?" Aquila said, tilting her head to the side in confusion.

"Blue," Margo replied, turning and grasping a blue shirt in her hand. "It'll look amazing with her eyes."

"Charity," Aquila said, finally gaining the girls attention. "I thought you had a date tonight."

Aquila's friend and flatmate rolled her eyes. "You'll never believe what he did," she yelled as she threw her hands up in the air. "He tried to steal my purse not even five minutes into dinner-"

A snort of laughter filled the air, interrupting Charity's story. Aquila unable to keep a comment to herself, muttered under her breath, "Well you sure know how to pick em'."

Ignoring her, Charity continued on explaining how she wanted to go out instead of trying to figure out where her choice in men went down the drain.

"So, we leave in ten minutes," Charity said, marching out of her room with Margo trailing behind.

"I have to work a double tomorrow," Aquila yelled through the closed door.

In response, Aquila only received a muffled reply of, "We won't stay late, I promise."

Running a hand through her messy hair, Aquila began to change into the outfit laid on her bed by her two closest friends. She jumped into her black skinny jeans and sloppily pulled the soft blue material of her v-neck shirt over her head. With a simple flick of her wand, she felt clean and ready to party with her hair and makeup done.

Aquila turned to her bathroom to brush her teeth, but she walked back out to  lean on the bathroom door frame. Her gaze lingered on the pile of unopened letters on the corner of her mahogany desk, with her name written on them. Bill Weasley has this idea that by sending her two letters a day that she would go out with him. She didn't have time for games with men with her on working almost everyday trying to further her career. She didn't see the point in giving her time to a man who couldn't even take on the commitment of owling her when he said he would. He had to see her to remember that he had offered to take her out.

Aquila turned back into her bathroom and spit out excess toothpaste into her white, porcelain sink. She turned on the faucet and let it run while she looked at herself in the mirror. After years and years of not thinking and with the help of her friends, she thought that she was worth a lot more than a broken promise.  She wanted someone to be there and make her feel wanted. Bill did that though, she reasoned with herself.  He didn't give her that suspicious look that followed her every time she or someone else said her name. Nonetheless, if he did want her, and if those letters were any indication that he did, Aquila was going to make him prove himself to her. With her boy troubles now resolved in her head for the time being, Aquila prepared for a fun night out with friends and the condemning hangover she'd face tomorrow morning.

A/N: I know this chapter is a little shorter than the others, but I sincerely hope it meets your expectations.

In the next chapter Aquila will show what type of friendship her and Margo have together. In addition, Bill Weasley and Aquila  start the very first steps of their relationship.
