"...Remember, and look closely at what you see." An man with graying hair whispered, weakly holding a small object before placing it on a small machine with what seemed to be a doll hanging in the middle of it.Humanity had, let's say, gone down hill. A very steep hill at that. War had torn men apart and brought extinction upon the masses. The old man, feeling responsible, created a group of robots with pieces of his soul. These small beings went through hell, destroying the cause of the human extinction, a cause that was made by man himself.
Although their numbers were small, they made it out alive, bringing on a new era, and a new society.
"So this was him."
A large robot with a round body said gently, looking over the fossil of what was once an inventor.
It's amazing really. No robot should have known who this long deceased man was, yet that one robot that started it all, the robot that was just named '9' made sure this human's existence was known.
"In the flesh! Or, well, what was fossilized." One of the scientists added, chuckling at his own bad joke.
"Mr. Bigweld" the head scientist spoke. "We have a proposal to make."
Mr. Bigweld looked up from the fossil and stared up at the scientist with curiosity.
"We want to make a human."
Bigweld was lucky enough to not be drinking anything or else he would have choked.
"A human??? I don't know if you knew this but organic dna degrades after, I don't know, five hundred years??? And how old is this guy, a million years old???"
"Actually, this body is approximately 15,000 years old."
"EXACTLY. This would be impossible! I hate to be the guy to tell y'all to give up, but y'all should give up. Besides, why would you need a living, BREATHING, human?"
"That's exactly what we needed you to ask, mr. Bigweld. This-" one of the scientist lifted a prehistoric looking book and began flipping the pages.
"-has more information on human bodies than anything written by robots! Look at this-"
The robot stopped at one page presenting it to bigweld with excitement on his face.
"-talks about cell reproduction. Human bodies can heal small injuries and wounds as well as replace old, dead cells with new ones! Could you imagine replacing rusty parts of your body without buying spare parts or even upgrades??? This can change history as we know it!!!"
"But why would you need a human? I get trying to improve robots' lives, but can you please explain why you need a living human?" Bigweld demanded, getting overwhelmed by the ridiculous ideas being spout out.
"We need to see how a human body works in person." A female scientist stepped forward, gathering the courage to speak.
"A human is more complex that not even a book can hold such info. We need to experience a living human as an outdated book won't tell us everything. Please, mr. Bigweld, robots are depending on us, no, on you. We need to try."Bigweld could not say no to that. Somehow he just couldn't.
She was right.
Robots are rusting out there, and he's not going to be here forever, not even the newest upgrades could save him from an uncertain demise.
"Fine." He said.
"Go ahead, do what must be done. But while you're at it, please be careful with that book, it is an important piece of human history, Put it in a museum or something." Mr. Bigweld said, turning back to the dominoes he was stacking.
