The purpose of life is to live it—to taste experience to the utmost. To reach out eagerly and without fear for a newer and richer experience.

"You're kidding, right?" Sarah asks in disbelief.

Scott grins, hand patting the seat of his lime-colored motorcycle lovingly. "Oh, come on, Sarah. It's no big deal. I promise."

"It's a man-made death trap," Sarah states bluntly, eyeing the vehicle in disdain.

Scott blinks. "Well, that's a little harsh." His tanned features form a pout, giving Sarah a pleading look. "And besides, my mom needs the car for work, so we really don't have much of a choice anyway." His hand holds out the helmet in an enticing manner, giving her a small smile. "Come on, live a little."

For a moment, there's silence as Sarah stares at the helmet held out to her in Scott's outstretched hand.

A deep sigh heaves out of Sarah's chest. "I'm going to regret this."

"I fucking regret this!" Sarah screeches, clinging onto Scott's back as they fly down the road.

Scott's laughter flies back towards her in the wind. And if Sarah weren't so currently terrified, she would've smacked the boy upside the head.

The entire ride is as terrifying as expected, though Scott is a better driver than she might've given him credit for.

His turns aren't too sharp. And when the lime-tinted dirt bike finally screeches! into Beacon Hills High School parking lot, Sarah's neck doesn't receive the whiplash she'd been expecting.

Her legs are wobbly as her figure all but scrambles off the motorcycle. Cursing and muttering petulantly under her breath as her hands wrench off Scott's helmet he'd shared with her.

Near her right, Scott is still chuckling away like some golden-retrievered schmuck. Shaking his head and grinning at her fondly as he climbs off the dirt bike. "Told you it would be fine."

Sarah mumbles under her breath while unceremoniously shoving Scott's motorcycle helmet into his chest and hands (with a loud ooof! from Scott for her efforts). "Barely."

Scott's been in a relatively good mood since showing Sarah his new dirt bike before school. It's clear just how proud he is of saving up the money to buy it.

However, when Scott's bronze eyes drift somewhere over Sarah's shoulder and his good-natured grin begins fading—

That's when she knows he's seen the twins's bikes.
