five
The next week went through extremely slow. Maybe it was because I was too excited and now the universe was punishing me by making time move a thousand times slower than it usually would. I was beginning to completely lose my mind. Who knew it was even possible to lose your mind over a football game? I sure as hell didn't and I wish I had known that sooner, so maybe I could've told them to wait until the day of to give me my gift.
At least it was Saturday. I had made it through the entire week so far and I only had one more day to go until I finally I got to see him.
Just one more day. Just one more. I continuously reminded myself as I pussed the obnoxiously loud vacuum cleaner down the eerily empty hallways, not disturbing many people since it was five thirty and most of our guests were out at dinner or the bar. The place I would rather be. If anyone was bothered by the sounds of the vacuum, they would have said something.
The Road Star Motel consisted of one main lobby and two long halways on either side, each holding about fifteen rooms. It was the same on the second floor. In total, there were 63 rooms. It was a very odd number of rooms for a motel to have, but the owner had a weird obsession with the number 63.
Once I finished both of the downstairs hallways and rolled up the cord for the vacuum, I placed the annoying machine in the closet and walked to the front desk, ruffling my hair a bit as I plopped into the chairs behind the desk.
Luke came out of the back room and sat beside me only a moment later, propping his feet up onto the desk. This wasn't a five star hotel. It was a place for tailgatters and fun people, not stuck up and rich ones that will turn away if we have our feet up. We were both starting our second break of the day, the first one only having been fifteen minutes for lunch.
I propped my feet up and leaned my head back to face the cieling, shutting my eyes with a sigh.
"Excited?" I heard Luke ask which made my head pop up to look over at him, my eyebrows furrowing.
"For what?" I asked, needing a moment to comprehend what he was asking. When he gave me a look as if I were the dumbest person he's ever seen, it finally clicked. "Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'm really excited. Thank you again. I wish I could bring you all with me though."
Luke chuckled, shaking his head a bit. 'We'll see you. You just won't see us. We'll all be sitting at the bar watching you, so it's like we're there. Plus, you can tell us all about the experience afterward."
I nodded at his words and looked down at my lap, a wave of guilt washing over me.
"Hey, don't feel bad, Niall. All we care about is that you go. The rest of us don't care if we go or not." I heard Luke try to reassure me, but all I did was nod.

I grinned like a child on Christmas morning when Zayn finally arrived to pick me up the next day, my Styles jersey clingy to my body loosely, my jeans tight on my skinny legs, and my hair gelled up in a quiff. I knew I would look like a weakling next to all of those large players. I really should work out more and drink less beer.
I stood by the by the window, my foot tapping against the floor rapidly, until I saw Zayn's car pull up. I immediately ran out to his car, having been ready for at least a half an hour beforehand, and jumped into his arms. Laughing at me, Zayn stepped back after a short moment and laid his arm over my shoulders. "I thought we could walk, so we wouldn't have to deal with that damn traffic on the way home. That sound good to you?"
I nodded quickly as I pushed his arm off, quickly fixing my jersey. I had to look perfect when I met Harry. Although it wouldn't matter to him, it would matter to me. "That sounds fine. As long as I get there, it's fine." I answered him as I stepped up to his car, checking my hair in the reflection of one of the side mirrors, to which he chuckled at me.
