— a girl by the name of Andromeda Kahale, or just Andy, is somehow sucked back to a time and place she couldn't even remember ever hearing about outside of the one time she didn't ditch ninth grade history class.or, (alternatively)
— Andy Kahale never considered herself to be the most smart, or capable person. Almost twenty one and painfully average and miserable, the usual kind of person born in 2002. But when she complains about needing change, that does not mean somehow travelling through time into the dark ages and hanging out with literal Vikings... but life doesn't always go how it's planned.

❛ yeah, i was under the impression this was a historical reproduction and someone slipped me some weird psychedelics because it's meant to be 2022. ❜

And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted—nevermore!from Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven (1845)
I have seen them riding seaward on the waves
Combing the white hair of the waves blown back
When the wind blows the water white and black.
We have lingered in the chambers of the sea
By sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown
Till human voices wake us, and we drown.from T. S. Eliot's The Love Song of Alfred J. Prufrock (1915)
while the wrecked thing that could
not bear the light nor hide
hobbled in its own blood.
My father reached my side,
gave me the fallen gun.
'End what you have begun.'
I fired. The blank eyes shone
once into mine, and slept.
I leaned my head upon
my father's arm, and wept,
owl blind in early sun
for what I had begun.from Gwen Harwood's Barn Owl (1975)
Leave to the nightingale her shady wood;
A privacy of glorious light is thine;
Whence thou dost pour upon the world a flood
Of harmony, with instinct more divine;
Type of the wise who soar, but never roam;
True to the kindred points of Heaven and Home!from William Wordsworth's To the Skylark (1825)
Where is my lady, the maiden fair
With eyes like stars and raven hair
There she stands in a ring of stone Where she waits for me and me alone
Through forest and glade and wood so deep
Where truths are known and secrets keep
She begs a gift, and give I do
For never was there one so true.
Where is my lady, the cunning and bold
Whose wit does bite like winter's cold
There she stands in a ring of stone
Where she waits for me and me alone
Through hill and mountain and highest peak
Where storms rule strong and life is bleak
She begs a trial, and try I do
For never was there one so true.
Where is my lady, playful and sly
With a laugh that's light and a step that's spry
There she stands in a ring of stone
Where she waits for me and me alone
Through swamp and marsh and lonely bog
Where death comes slow as a creeping fog
She begs my heart, and die I do For never was there one so true.
