The gang were in Mary's kitchen, washing dishes. They'd had to take all their darks off.

Being the cheekiest, Esme refused to give Mary her skirt so whilst everyone else was in a white shirt and their underpants, Esme was still in her full school uniform, minus the blazer and tie.

"Hey! Let me look at that" Mary shouted

James walked over to Mary, frowning slightly as he showed her the plate to which she scoffed and shook her head.

"You call that clean, do you?" Mary asked

"Different standards, you see" Sarah sighed dramatically "You're not in England now, son"

"Orla was the one who washed it" The English boy protested

Orla turned round, her face displaying what could only be described as a hurt expression.

"Oh, okay" Orla sighed "I have had it with you, James, and your picking, picking, picking, and I won't take it any more. Do you hear me?"

"Is everything OK, Orla?" Esme asked

"I warned you, Orla" Sarah said "You're putting yourself under too much pressure"

"Can't fail, Mammy" Orla said shakily

"Since when have you been troubled by exams?" Erin asked

"Exams?" Orla frowned "What are you on about, Erin?"

"What are you on about, Orla?" Erin asked

"Step" Orla said

"I'm sorry?" Erin asked

"Step aerobics" Sarah said "Orla has got really into step aerobics. Her instructor says she's a natural. Says she's got what it takes to go all the way"

Everyone stared at Sarah in confusion, they're confusion clear.

"All the way in step aerobics?" Mary asked

"But it's out of control now, Mary. She's stepping morning, noon and night" Sarah continued

"It's true" Orla nodded

"Apart from anything else, it's dangerous" Sarah stated "She nearly came through the ceiling yesterday"

Esme stifled a laugh at the buzz are situation. She covered her mouth with her hand, trying to cover up the giggles with a faux cough.

"Okay, she might be gifted" Sarah let out a deep sigh "But I just want her to have a normal childhood"

"I won't give it up. I can't" Orla said

"Listen to yourself, love" Sarah said

"Now, whites"
