After that day, I had avoided Jungkook. And Lord knows how hard that was.
Now that it was awkward between us, it was hard to keep him around me like a friend when I suspected him to feel differently.
It really didn't help how innocent he looked and how eagerly he waited for me.
I had never had to be blunt with anybody before and I didn't want to be now either.
So it really helped when he took the hint and stopped trying to talk to me.
I really was a little mad at him still.
"Hey, are you even listening?," Shinhye's voice broke me out of my trance.
"What?"
"I said, what's going on between you and Jungkook?"
"What? Nothing...," I looked away and saw Jungkook walk past us and take a seat at the back of the class.
"There definitely is. Look at how sad he looks," she pointed at him and I slapped her hand down.
"It's rude to point."
"So you admit something happened?"
I said, exasperated, "no! Nothing happened." And to get her off my case, I waved to Jungkook and smiled.
His eyes grew wide as he looked at me through his long hair.
"Good morning, Kook," I said and his smile grew wider as the sides of his eyes crinkled.
If I weren't mad at him, I would have found him adorable.
Then I turned around to look at Shinhye. "See? It's all fine."
Her eyes twinkled as she sat back down and looked at me expectantly.
"What?"
"Well, if things are okay between you two..."
"They are."
"I was wondering," she started. "Since you guys are neighbors and all and Jungkook is especially close to you," she fiddled with her hair. "Well.. uh, I was just hoping if you could ask him out for me?"
Okay, what?
"You know, just ask him what he thinks about me and if he'd be interested in going out with me."
And now that she said it, I remembered that Hyungjae had asked me to do the same and ask her what she thought of him.
Poor Hyungjae.
