2 Weeks Later

The sound of my brother pounding on my door echoed through my room.

"Get up it's 6:30, you have to get to school." he called out.

I didn't have a car, which meant that my parents had given him the job of transporting me to school since he didn't have a anywhere to be and had taken a gap year before collage. I found it great that he had to wake up just as early as me, but I still envy his ability to get back into bed when he gets home from dropping me off. But I kept the thought that it's already Thursday in the back of my mind to keep me from breaking.

I got dressed and opened my door to the smell of fresh coffee filling the hallways. Coffee was the only thing that would get me through the day and my family knew that. When I got down stairs Chris was waiting at the door, still wearing his sweatpants and t-shirt that he had slept in the night before.

"Jeez women would you hurry up already it has been an hour." he said with a frown.

"Calm down it has not been an hour, and at this rate I am going to be early for school."

"Whatever, I going out to the car."

As he left I ran to the kitchen for some coffee and my backpack, and followed him out.

We pulled into the parking lot of the school, which had students coming from every direction. I wanted so bad to just huddle deep into my jacket and ignore what was going on around me, but I knew that was not an option. As I got out of the car I noticed that there were more people that were watching me then expected. I tried to ignore the fact that I was now probably number 1 priority in many minds, and walked in.

"Well have a nice day and I will see you at 4:30. Okay?" Chris said, while pulling out of the spot. I gave him a quick nod and began making my way to towards the main entrance.

"Hi, I am Naomi Peterson." I said to a heavy set women with thick glasses that sat at the front desk of the office.

Her blonde hair was pulled up into a tight bun and as she lifted her head I noticed a light scar across her chin.

"Oooh yes, the new girl. Here is your introduction packet and, 'Abigail,'" she called off to the side.

A tall yet petit girl responded by lifting her head in our direction, not fully understanding as to who or why someone was calling her. I saw realization spread across her face with a smile as she began walking over to us. When she got closer I could see she had light blue eyes, and long blond hair. Her perfect complexion and high cheekbones were hard to miss as she made me feel slightly self-conscious.

"This is Abigail Williams she will be taking you around today," the woman finished.

"Very nice to meet you." Abigail said holding out her perfectly manicured hand.

I shook her hand and we began walking to my first class, AP biology.

"So where are you from?" she asked, trying to start up a conversation.

"I move around a lot, but before this I was up in Canada." I replied.

"Oh cool, I have family up there. Why did you move to Colorado?"

"Because of my dad's job."

"Do you have any siblings?" Her rapid questions made me uneasy, but I tried to keep my emotions in check.

"I have a older brother, who is supposed to be going to collage, but he is taking a gap year before because of the move."

I was relieved when we reached the classroom door, tired of this conversation. The moment we stepped through the doorway I recognized a familiar face of a certain someone who had ruined my favorite jacket.
