Ashton - New job!

Hey, I'm Ashton Irwin!

Today's the first day at my new job at Target, and I can't wait. Sure, working and everything that involves growing up sucks, but I love meeting new people.

As I walked through the automatic doors, proudly striding in my uniform, a young Asian-looking lad is standing at the entrance.

I stopped in front of him and bowed. "Konnichiwa!"

"I'm Kiwi," he replied, looking extremely pissed off.

"O-oh! Well uh..." I stuck out my hand to offer a handshake. This is probably the worst greeting ever! "Howdy."

He eyed me for a few moments before briefly shaking my hand, to which I smiled.

"I'm Calum," he said. "You're the newbie?"

"Sure am!" I squealed.

We stood there for a few moments before I realized I hadn't told him my name.

"I'm Ashton!" I said and pointed at my name tag.

He nodded and walked away from me, decently fast.

"Welcome to Target," he called over his shoulder.

I looked around the store until I saw where I'll be working. The food section! Or produce, whatever the official people refer to it as.

I saw another employee with purple hair on my way to my department. He was stocking up what looked like CDs, but once he saw me he practically ran and hid.

A tall, blond fellow was waiting for me at the freezer aisle. He had his hands in his pockets, and when he saw me he remained the same despite my flashing smile. These people mean business.

"Hi, I'm Ash-"

"I'm Luke," the blond rudely interrupted me.

I pressed my mouth into a firm line, fearing that if I didn't something else would slip out. I thought this was a happy store. I've always bought the greatest things here. What's so bad about working here?!

"Just do your job, and mind your own business," Luke said. "If you're lucky, I'll be your 'friend.'"

And with that he walked away.

I tugged on the ends of my curly brown hair and let out a sigh. I don't want to be that douche-bag-Luke's friend.

Is this high school all over again or what?

alright well tomorrow i have school pictures and i'm v ugly so i probably won't upload tomorrow bc bad mood.
