First
Underneath the beautiful clear night sky, a boy laid in bed grasping his small toy for reassurance. He knitted his eyebrows together, sweat dripped from his forehead.
He turned and tossed under the white covers, his small wings rustled every time he did so. then his eyes fluttered, revealing fearful honey-coloured eyes as it darted around the dark room. His breaths were erratic.
The walls were plain and dull but were plastered in pictures of his flaming hot idol. His red curtains couldn't block the mysterious white moonlight from shining in.
As it cast an eerie vibe, the boy tucked his head slightly underneath the covers. His nightmares didn't end at all.
It had been weeks since it started, fleeting but often. Each nightmare possessed a fear he had; the loss of a loved one, failure, expectations, and the peer pressure he gathered at school. It was too much for a little boy to handle.
He was only at the tender age of 7.
Giving a sigh, he pushed the white blankets off and tiptoed to the edge of the window, enjoying the cold breeze against his searing hot skin. He breathed in deeply and fluttered his eyes closed to enjoy the peaceful and calm moment he had.
"and ah ah ah ah ah,
you're my favourite thing,
ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
all the love that you bring"
A soft whisper was carried through the wind, his pale ears noticed the soothing and warm sensation. He cocked his eyebrow and looked around for the source. His curious light brown eyes glowed in the dark, looking around like a cat in the bushes.
"but it feels like i've opened,
my eyes again,
and the colours are golden,
and bright again"
He sighed, feeling his tensed muscles relaxing. The boy shifted his body against the wall and closed his eyes. The voice was quiet but his red feathers were able to pick it up, making it seem like the person singing was inside the room with him.
It continued:
"there's a song in my heart,
i feel like i belong,
it's a better place since,
you came along,
it's a better place since you came along.
i see the whole world in your eyes,
it's like i've known you all my life,
we just feel so right"
He felt his eyelids getting heavy and slumped down yawning. He tucked in knees in his chest and laid his soft blonde hair on his arms. The little boy breathed softly in a pattern as he slowly indulged in the soft song.
His eyes closed and felt himself slowly drift off.
"...
and ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
you're my favourite thing..."
