I hope you enjoy this story. I do not own any of the pictures I used. I just edited it slightly.

Two young girls sit outside of their school. They sit, leaning on a tree.

"Hey, since you are new here, have you ever heard of the tales about this town?" asked one girl.

"Nope, I haven't." replied the other girl shaking her head.

"Well, there is one tale specifically..... that is probably true."

"Oh really? What tale is that?"

That was when I was in elementary school and when I first moved to Aster City. That was around the time when I met my best friend. I honestly don't believe it. The rumor of this tale. I am already in high school and there has been no proof to this rumor since I moved here.

I sighed as I got out of bed. Today was my first day in high school. I went to the mirror hanging on my wall and brushed my long black hair. Then, I put on my school uniform. I honestly didn't like it because the black skirt was too short. Other than that I would have no problem with this uniform. The sweater was thin and light and, for god sakes, it was black. I loved wearing black.

"Honey! Hurry up! You're gonna be late for school!" yelled my mom.

"Coming!" I yelled back rushing out my room, running downstairs.

"Mommy, why is Lilian running around the house like a maniac?" asked my little brother watching me grab things from all around and stuffing toast in my mouth.

"She has school and she is running late, sweetie." Replied my mom patting his dark brown hair down.

I took my book bag of the hook and said goodbye to my family as I walked out the doors of my house. I speed walked down the sidewalk and turned the corner when I heard my name being called.

"Lilian!"

I ignored it but it just got louder and and louder. Finally, with a sigh, I turned around to face my best friend since elementary school.

"Hey Lilian!" said Ashley waving slightly.

"Hey Ashley.." I said with a blank expression.

"Geez, I know you heard me calling your name," Ashley stated.

"Sorry, I am running late and I am kind of out of it today. We are both going to be late! Lets go!" I grabbed her sleeve and forced her to speed walk the rest of the way with me.

We made it to school and today went by pretty fast but there was something bothering me that I couldn't quite figure out. I was with Ashley and we were talking about the Crimson Night. As we walked around, I felt like we were being listened to. Now, Ashley and I were gonna hang out.

"Tonight is gonna be a crimson night, you remember?" said Ashley.

I frowned knowing where this was going. It was the same thing every year. Every year she thought she could get me scared and every year I ignored her nonsense story.

"That tale is not true. There is no proof, Ashley." I replied.

"Fine! Every year you say that! So you know what?" Ashley said. "Get permission to sleep over at my house and tonight you will hang out with me during the Crimson Night and I will show you."

"Fine." I said hoping this will finally get her off my back and shut her up for a couple years with this crazy tale.

I got permission but now that I think about it..... isn't it dangerous to be out during the Crimson Night according to the tale?

"Hey.... maybe we shouldn't be doing this...it is going to be dark soon."

"Oh? I thought you didn't believe in the tale of the Crimson Night? So let's explore and see if it is true!" Ashley replied smirking.

"Well, I don't but it can still be dangerous if it is true or if there are crazy people trying to make it seem true."

"We will be fine."

"Fine. You're the expert." I replied ending the conversation.

We were currently walking to our old tree house in an abandoned park. The sun was just setting when we got comfortable in the tree house.

When the sun set, instead of midnight blue, the sky was crimson. Of course this was normal every now and then but this would be my first time out of my house seeing the Crimson Night. People say during the Crimson Night, if you are not in a safe area, windows closed and doors locked then your worst fear will come and kill you.

"Alright. Let's walk outside." said Ashley suddenly.

I sighed for the third time today. "Okay."

We climbed down our tree house and started walking around. For 2 hours nothing happened and I was getting tired.

"Ashley, let's just g-"

"Shh!"

"Ashley seriously I am tired. Let's g-"

"Shut the hell up!" Ashley whispered angrily.

Suddenly, I heard a scream. It was faint but the sound was unmistakable.

"Let's check it out." She grabs my arm.

All I could do was nod and sneakily follow her but once we reached where we heard the scream, I couldn't move at all.

Pale looking people with no faces except for a mouth were eating a girl about our age. I screamed. Suddenly, the pale people disappeared and a harsh wind blew past me. Ashley and I heard creepy whispers.

Ashley stood frozen and kept on repeating the same thing over and over, saying that this was all her fault and now we were gonna die. Then, there was a clear creepy voice this time.

It said "Did you ever hear the tale..."

The creepy laughter echoed through my ears and the voice continued on

"....Of the Crimson Night?"
