Together, the Romans and the Greeks sent out satyrs, eagles, and campers to look for Percy Jackson. I sighed. I wasn't envious of Percy, or the part of Anthony that never stopped loving her. No. I pited her. Her life hasn't been perfect. Similarly to all demigods. But she's seen more. Faced more than almost any other. She thought Anthony had loved her, but she misunderstood. Crumpled in sadness, she still held a brave face for those around her. It was her fatal flaw after all. But I fear that the Gods are asking too much of her. I fear that she might saw no, and be sent to oblivion. Knowing Percy, that is a Percy-type answer. Especially if even then, she won't return. She went through Tartarus for her friends, she held up the weight of then sky to save her friends, she held a brave face when she found Anthony had purposed to me. But when we didn't protest her banishing, I fear she lost all trust in us. But that isn't even all. The Hods didn't think her banishing through well. She's a daughter of Posiden on her own in the world. She must get pretty frequent monster attacks. My stomach dropped. She might be dead. Or worse, joined the other side for revenge. But Percy wouldn't join the monsters. Right? I started to pace. There were so many possibilities to think about. To be honest. We all just wanted Percy back. However, after what we did, or rather what we didn't do, she might never come back. And what if she had a good life were she was. What if she was happy? And then we come waltzing in taking that away from her. I groaned. In her point of view, we must be monsters. I collapsed down in my chair in my office. My loyal dogs at my side. Oh Percy. At one time, I hoped we could be sisters. Percy may be headstrong, but her loyalty ran deep. It was something any true Roman would have to respect.
"Praetor! News of Percy Jackson." Dakota said - bursting through my door.
My train of thoughts screeched to a halt.
"This better be good Centurion." I said.
I followed him out the door. He was going pretty slow. It made me want to rip my hair out. It seems that he was drank to much kool-aid, again. Anyway, he led my to the river Tiber. There a large crowd was gathered. I pushed through the crowd. A satyr was being swarmed by demigods and descendants. Each asking and commenting at the same time. The racket was unbearable.
"QUIET!!!!" I ordered.
The noise stopped. I glared around. Warning them. They all backed away from the frightened fau....sorry satyr.
"What is your news?" I asked - looking he satyr in the eye.
He looked at me.
"I...I.....I was j....ju.....just minding my own business when P.......Percy J....Jackson runs right pass me. A....a.....hellhound was right on her trail." He stammered.
The crowd gasped. I prayed to all the gods to hope that she was alive.
"Do you know where she was headed and where she'd been running from?" Someone nervously asked.
"Y...yeah. S.....she was r....running from a really bad city. A REALLY bad human city. I think it..it's called Goth.... Gotham. And it looks like she was running towards another human city. It was just as bad if not worse than the other. It's called Bludhaven. But she probably isn't there anymore. But it might be useful for the trackers and/lot demigods to check it out. She might have left a message." The satyr responded.
I nodded.
"Thank you for your service. We'll notify our operatives right away." I said.
The satyr turned to leave. Then before he started to run, he said,"P....Praetor. P...P....Please don't be too hard on h....her. H...her eyes were so s...sa......sad when I saw her. She m....must feel t...t....terrible." The satyr said before running off. I pondered this. While some to the Centurions spread the word. I went back to my office. It was true. The worlds of Gods really needed Percy back. But what if she didn't want to come back. What if all she wanted was a break? A break from being a demigod. A break from being a leader. A break from holding the weight of the world on your shoulders. I knew she did, because I wanted that too. Oh Percy. I'm so sorry. I only hope one day you can get your happy ending. But we're demigods. We don't get happy endings.
Hey guys. Sorry it took so long to update. I'm going to try and write another chapter later. But for now, here's this! Till next time, or later, See ya on the other side!
