-SHAI POV-
"Where's everyone running to?" I asked.
"There must be a fight," remarked Lucy with interest.
"But it's only two weeks into the term!" exclaimed Nellie.
And I secretly agreed with her because it was indeed only the start of the school year. In primary school we were lucky to even get one fight a year.
Even then the fighters hardly touched each other...
"Oh my god we should go!" said Katie, already making her way to A quad, the rest of the group following leaving me standing there.
My friends at that point were a mixed bunch. Nellie was crazy, short and had long blond highlighted hair. Katie had braces, brown eyes and brown hair. Wilma was tall, blonde and popular but one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and Lucy had short brown, straight hair.
"Wait!" I say, "WE will get in trouble for watching!"
"Don't worry Shai!" Said Katie exasperated still continuing to A Quad, "You're such a prude sometimes!"
So I followed behind reluctently.
When in A Quad it became clear the fights in in High School were NOT in the same category of the ones in Primary. There was no way a teacher could break this up without getting hurt and with the whole school crowed around the two participants they would be luck to even get through.
"Who are they?" I wonder out loud. The two were both in year 10, I knew that much.
"The one with the long brown hair is Gordan Williams and the one with the short blond hair is Lyndon Gray," replied a girl about my age beside me. She had shoulder length brown hair and a bright smile.
"You're Kylie McGeorge aren't you?" I question, "You're in most of my classes and you sit with Cleo Smith"
"Yeah that's me," she said.
"Shai O'Brian," I say, sticking out my hand for her to shake. But as we turn around just in time to see teachers barging their way through the crowd, I realise something about what she just said.
"Wait," I start "You mean that's Lyndon 'Spray Paint On A Teacher's Car' Gray?"
"Yep" she replied "And how do you know about that? I only know because my Mum's an administrator at St Mary's!"
"I know because it was my car."
"No way! Your mum is Mrs O'Brian! Like the English teacher Mrs O'Brian?" She exclaimed.
By this stage both boys were being luged up to the Deps office.
"Yeah, she is. What else has he done?" I ask.
"Well he apparently treats teachers like dirt and there's a rumour he had sex with two different girls in one night" she said.
"So he's a bad boy then?" I ask.
"Yeah," she replies, "A real bad boy."
