Clarice Starling was someone she had never witness before. A woman with a strong ambition and confidence that seemed to flow off her body and seep into the ones around her, and so incredibly aware of her surroundings. Keeping up with the conversation and always careful to have eye contact but at the same time scanning those who passed or glancing around the open cafe. Probably a reason they were sat near the wide windows that allowed sunlight to flood in and show off the bustling city around them. A perfect way to keep a constant eye on the ones around you. Taking the distraction of a baby crying that pulled Agent Starling's gaze away Hope examined her closer. A ginger, like her but her hair was straight and a shade darker. Not terribly noticeably in color especially in the light that bleached her hair and gave it a faded hue. Now it was now tied back in a tight ponytail keeping it up and away from her face. With the thick locks pulled back came a better view of her face which was pale as snow similar to Hope's which only furthered the belief that all ginger's were pale. Orange freckles spanned along the bridge of her nose and then spread out along the rosy glow of her cheeks. Almost hidden beneath the redness that flushed the pale flesh but looking close enough they were obviously there. Her eyes were another noticeable difference. A darker blue and each eye the same shade which was to be expected, not everyone had heterochromia. Her lips round but considerably thin were arched downwards in a frown and their was a dark purple ring underneath her eyes from lack of sleep.
"So.. Agent Starling. As interesting as it is to talk about careers. You called me here to talk about one of my patients. Could you perhaps supply a name so I could get you the information you need?"
Clarice sternly smiled the corner of her lips twitched as if not used to allowing this as her eyes slid away from the window and fixated themselves on Hope again giving a curt nod. "Right, Let's get down to business hm? You've heard about the recent murders in the newspapers I've assumed?"
"You mean Buffalo Bill? Yes... What does he have to do with my patients?" Despite asking these question, she had a sinking suspicion of who it might be... but it didn't make sense. What did Hannibal have anything to do with a killer running around targeting bigger ladies?
"Well my employer sent me to question Hannibal Lecter. Someone I know you are caring for as a psychiatrist. I've talked to him once shortly after you left your session but sadly I didn't get much from him- did he say anything to you?"
Hope pursed her lips, not in anger but in deep thought gazing down at the folded napkin neatly tied around polished silver utensils held within the rim of the napkin was carefully stitched patter of a beautiful flower. Did he ever mention a Buffalo Bill or those murders? No, but why would he? Hannibal was too smart to give things away so early in the game and it's not like she pressed him for information. Curiosity flickered to life within her like a raging flame the more she thought about the question. Bringing together a query of her own, why are they questioning Hannibal Lecter? From the stern but cautious look etched along the detective's face she probably wouldn't reveal any information.
"No. I don't believe he ever mentioned anyone named Buffalo Bill. We didn't have much time to talk but when we did it was more personal details. Though I find it hard to believe that he could be aiding in any murders from behind that sheet of glass.
"You'd be surprised on what people are capable of," Clarice paused as the waitress came over with the bill and then scampered off clearly uncomfortable under her gaze. "What did you talk about?"
"Sorry. That's confidential information. My patient is allowed rights after all. Do you want to split the check?"
"No.. no. I got it. Thank you again."
