Fredrick Chilton tapped the end of his metal pen against the royal mahogany desk that stretched to each end of the larger office like a square boat. Streams of light flooded through the beige curtains tied to each side of the window leaving enough of a gap that natural lighting was enough for adequate sight though the aid from the lamps really lit up the room. Behind him was a shelf filled with books placed organized in each spot and cleaned to the point where not a single spec of dust appeared on the spines embroiled in gold lettering. Some having to do with psychology or mental illnesses and how to treat them. Others were oddly thrown in despite having nothing to do with the profession he was in, like how to change a flat tire or such dull titles. Beside the shelf in clear view and illuminated by a standing lamp were framed diplomas with his scratched signature underneath. The glare of the light made them stand out against the rest of the barren decorations which was very clearly obvious. Chilton was a man who did things for a reason and gloated his knowledge despite being a naive fool. Placing his diplomas in that spot was done for the sake of boastfulness though the classes did not enhance his general demeanor. It just made him an insufferable prick.

Sat at one of the chairs in front of the desk was Hope, one leg crossed over the other which he immediately picked up and dragged his eyes slowly down the bare pale flesh which reached to her rounded thighs hidden underneath a black pencil skirt tight and short but professional looking. He licked his chapped lips and offered a tight smile to the ginger who returned in politeness while keeping a blank stare. Did she notice his gaze? Searching for any inclination brought up nothing so he plowed into conversation trying to arouse any reaction.

"So, Ms. Redwell. How has your work with Dr. Lecter been going?"

"Quite well, thank you. He's responded well to my presence and I've gotten intriguing knowledge from our conversations. I do believe further correspondence will aid in treatment or possibly a stronger bond and information on his plaguing issues." Hope kept her words short and from the professional and intelligent vocabulary he pondered whether she was annoyed. The detective before, a similar ginger hotty, had similarly been short with him but she was acting far more polite. Careful with her wording and keeping distance between them. It annoyed Chilton that beautiful women such as them could be getting so far while he hit a brick wall over and over again. Their assets were the only reason that Hannibal spent any time with them and irritation turned to anger quickly though he attempted to mask it under a courteous smile. Women like her and Agent Starling had no place in this field of study, they belonged in places more suited for pretty little girls. It disgusted him.

"Yes well you must forgive me for being impressed if not taken by surprise. You see it's not everyday a woman so beautiful as yourself would get so far in a male dominated field of study. Must of taken a lot of work," He paused putting emphasis on work which the drawl of his tongue. Implying that she climbed her way up like every woman must've, climbing in the bed with those at power. That's the only thing that made sense to Fredrick, why would Hannibal waste his time on them but mutual attraction?

"Hm.. I'm not sure what you mean Doctor. I work just as hard as any man it just takes effort is all. I'm sure you know that being a psychiatrist of your own." Her lips twitched but she kept the unnerving smile eyes focused and trained as if attempting to read him. Pah, as if a woman could manage such a thing.

"I just mean that I'm surprised Hannibal offered his time over to you. As I stated on your first day he was quite.. how should I put it? Uncooperative. And now, two beautiful women such as yourself and Agent Starling manages to crack the case? You must agree it's slightly- Well fishy."

"Fishy? In what way?"

"Let's put it this way. I'm sure the only reason Dr. Lecter offered his time to you and Clarice was because he hasn't been in the company of a woman for awhile now." Dr. Chilton rested his chin on his elbows wearing a triumphant smirk at the twitch of her eye irritation dancing like flames within the different colored hues. A heavy inhale pushed between the part in her pink lips and shook her head side to side.
