"Thra.
Never, in a million trines, did they think Thra. The UrSkek had been exiled to this planet... why? no one knows. Not even Augrah and she is born of Thra. It grew more confusing when the Great Division happened. Now there were two new species on Thra, why!? One, full of hatred and anger.. the other annoyingly lazy. No one-
"

"Good Stars, Scroll Keeper.. how much longer is this!?" groaned the Emperor, tapping his claws on the dining table and leaning his large head in the other hand. He had never favored the long and exaggerated stories of the Scroll Keeper unless they were enjoyable. History? not as much.
SkekOk bowed his beak in slight embarrassment and shook his head, "I'll stop. Forgive me.".
The other Skeksis gave a sigh of relief, not many enjoyed long history lectures.
The Chamberlain let out a whimper, earning a few groans and hisses from the others. "Never mind! Continue! Please, anything other than his noises!".
SkekSil gave a content smile. He personally enjoyed long stories. They allowed him to think and ponder on things as the others stayed silent and listened.

The General, on the other hand, was having none of it. He stood up and excused himself before the Scroll Keeper even continued. "I have to train the Garthim", always his excuse.
SkekSil did not believe this is what SkekUng did. Perhaps it was his mind attempting to find ways to start drama yet again within the group, but he truly denied believing that General would train the stupid Garthim this much. Silently, he slipped away as the others paid no mind, and slowly crept down the hall behind the Garthim Master.

The floors were always so cold. The halls, so damp. It wasn't as enjoyable as it was one thousand trines ago; when the Castle was made of shimmering crystal. SkekSil did his utmost best to be silent- he in... previous disputes, learned of the Garthim Masters keen hearing. Oddly (and to some disappointment) he followed SkekUng to the Garthim Pits, just beside the sewers. "Hello, you piles of junk.. have you caught anything for me?...", muttered SkekUng, presumably to the Garthim. SkekSil peeked from a corner and watched. SkekUng scanned every single Garthim for any sign of damage or a flaw... he seemed to care for the beasts. Care? SkekSil gave a silent chuckle. That heartless bastard didn't care for anything besides himself.

After a few minutes, SkekUng reached into a hole in the wall. The Garthim clattered and clicked, as if excited and ready for something. The Garthim Master revealed a fake creature- or a dead one. the Chamberlain couldn't tell which. "Go get it!", yelled SkekUNg as he threw the thing far off into the tunnels. The crab-like monsters chased it. "... they are PETS". SkekSil near gave himself away by laughing, the General, with pets? unheard of! Sadly, his noises didn't go unheard- and he stiffened and he heard shuffling move towards him. "Who's there?!" hissed SkekUng. SkekSil gulped and began to retreat but wasn't quite fast enough.

"You! Chamberlain! What are you doing down here!?". SkekSil stammered, he wouldn't be able to make a valid excuse, damn his curiosity!
"A-Am only wandering! Have not been down this far in a long while, saw you moping about and decided to investigate!". Wonderful. Of course, he'd believe that. The General was an ill-tempered brute, but not a moron.
"Wandering, eh? I heard you follow me earlier... you're looking for a way to get me in trouble!".

SkekSil backed towards a wall. General snarled angrily and moved forwards. "Please, no anger! Am causing no harm!", pleaded Chamberlain, hoping for some bit of mercy. General knew the Chamberlain feared him and would use this to his advantage frequently.  "If you don't want me to explain to the Emperor you spied on an innocent Skeksis looking for trouble, you will leave. NOW. and you'll stop following me wherever I go! I do notice these things, worm!".
SkekSil sighed happily and gave a quick nod as a reply. SkekUng studied the smaller SkekSis while he could, something about the Chamberlain always seemed to infuriate him, but he never knew what. Something today.. made him feel strange. Warm. There was comfort in his Rival's presence. General shook it off as weakness. Chamberlain scuttled away quickly, not looking back.

What was that feeling?
