Mark's enthusiasm for golf had somehow revived Jinyoung's passion for it. Lately, when Mark could not come to him, he would occupy himself with playing golf.
It always reminded him of his father. A great part of his youth had been spent by him watching his father play golf, learning it from his father and playing with him.
When they were not busy taking swings, his father would recount how this golf club had been founded, his college life when he had met Jinyoung's mother, and sometimes, Jinyoung's embarrassing childhood memories which Jinyoung had not been able to recall.
"A well-aimed shot."
Jinyoung was brought back to the present by this unfamiliar voice and sudden comment. He relaxed his posture and gave his attention to the stranger standing beside him. It was a new face and Jinyoung guessed it might be a newly-registered member.
"Thanks."
The man was of about Jinyoung's age and there was a golf bag laid beside him. He flashed a smile at Jinyoung and extended his hand.
"Jaewon. Nice to meet you, Jinyoung. Surprised? I've seen you both in the media and in the press."
"Ah, nice to meet you too. I've never seen you here before. First time here?" Jinyoung said, shaking Jaewon's hand.
"The very first time and I've got to meet the owner of the club. You're even more good-looking than I expected. Those photos and videos didn't do you any justice."
Jinyoung rubbed his neck, a little uncomfortable, "Thank you. I think I'm taking your time. Hope you'll enjoy here."
"Do you want to play with me? Maybe, we can make it a game. Though not certain if I'm a challenge to you."
"Cool," Jinyoung said, although he was not very sure if he really wanted to play against someone, much less against a customer.
With much enthusiasm, Jaewon started getting the things ready and when that was done, they discussed a few rules for the game before beginning it.
Turned out that it was quite fun. Jaewon could be said to have had as much experience as Jinyoung had, and it had been like ages since Jinyoung had played with or against someone who was more or less at his level.
With just a few points different, Jinyoung won but he suspected Jaewon had not put enough effort into the last round, on purpose.
"Congratulations!"
"I think you let me win deliberately."
"No. You were just good. Anyway, it was a great experience. Thank you, Jinyoung. I hope we'll meet again and be friends. We can play like this a lot more."
It was totally impossible for Jinyoung to give that promise to Jaewon because when he was with Mark here, he would rather they were not interrupted. Even though Jaewon seemed to be nice and playing against him had also been quite fun.
But it would be too rude to refuse his offer straight away. Jinyoung just said, "I hope so too. But you might not always find me here."
"I see. Of course, a handsome guy like you has better things to do than playing golf with someone like me. But I'll always make sure that I don't bore you, that is, if I've another chance to be with you. See you."
Jaewon took his golf bag and waving at Jinyoung, left him and walked back to the direction of the office building.
The waiter led Jinyoung to the reserved room and there, he was welcomed by Mark, who had been waiting for him with a large-course meal on the table. Once the waiter left them, Mark enveloped Jinyoung for a long hug, before they seated opposite each other at the table.
"You didn't wait for me and ordered all of these yourself," Jinyoung said, nodding towards the dishes on the table.
"But all are your favourite dishes. I've only ordered what you like," Mark said, proudly, "Where would you find a boyfriend like me?"
"Oh, now, so smug about it?" Jinyoung shook his head, before letting out a chuckle. "How was your day? Anything you want to tell me?"
"Nothing interesting. I was actually waiting for this evening and this dinner with you. The day just seemed too long. You were such a distraction."
"Even when I wasn't with you?"
"Exactly because you weren't with me. You know, you should compensate me for those tormented hours."
"Well, how?"
"By letting me sleep with you at your place tonight."
"Okay, we'll sleep cuddling up together. Is that all?"
"But I don't really mean we'll sleep though. We might be doing something else."
"As expected."
Mark took hold of Jinyoung's hand that had been laid on the table and brought it to his cheek. It made him feel warm; Jinyoung's hands always gave him a home-coming feeling. He planted a kiss on Jinyoung's palm before intertwining their hands and laying them on the table.
"Let's eat while they're still hot," Jinyoung said. Mark let go of Jinyoung's hand and soon, they were digging into their dinner.
Although they were not in a candle-lit room with the scent of flowers, it was still romantic in its own way. They fed each other often and Mark would tease Jinyoung whenever he noticed something on Jinyoung's lips, before grabbing a tissue and wiping it away.
Love was about caring each other and enjoying even simple things together, after all.
