Chapter 20:- Desire

The Next Day

8 o' clock morning.

There was a knock at the door of my room.

"Come in." I said and yawned.

"Good morning, Miss Hiyori." It was Chris. He greeted and bowed.

"Oh, Chris-Senpai, good morning." I replied and smiled.

"Miss Hiyori, you want to get out of bed? Can I help?" He asked.

"Where is Saki-Senpai?" I asked and looked around.

"She is helping Miss Miyu at the moment so she could not come. I arrived instead. Is there a problem?" He asked.

"Ah no. No. It's fine. Get me on my wheel chair." I requested.

He got me on my wheel chair and took me outside.

"I'll go from here. You continue with your work. Arigatou." I smiled.

"Ar..i..ga.. what?" Chris was puzzled.

"It means 'Thank you'. Hehehe." I gave a toothy smile.

"Ari..ga..tou.. right?" He laughed.

"Yeah!" I gave a thumbs up.

"I should go now."

"Wait...." I stopped him.

"Yeah?" He turned around.

"Umm.. Is Dr. Jayden here?" I murmured.

"No. He left for the hospital at 5 in the morning." He answered.

"What?! That early?" I exclaimed.

"Yes. I don't even know why he left so early today. Usually, he goes by 8 or 9 but today, 5? That was way too early. Maybe there was an emergency. I'll call him up and ask about it. Do you want to talk to him about something?" He asked.

"No. I just... I just asked about him. That's all. I thought he was going to join us for breakfast so, if his mood was okay." I said.

"To be honest, he seemed tired to me. As if he didn't sleep. I asked him if he was okay but he yelled at me and left without having breakfast. He was really upset about something. It isn't related to last night. Is it?" He wondered.

"Huh?" I gasped.

"Will meet you at the breakfast." He went away.

Is Jayden alright? Should I call him? Why did he leave like that? Might be an emergency, right? Or is he...

I traveled through the corridor and was near Miyu's room. I peeked inside and saw Saki talking to Miyu about something. I tried to hear them.

"Don't you think that?" Saki questioned.

"Umm hmm." Miyu hummed.

"I do think there is something going on between Lady Hiyori and Dr. Jayden. Whenever they meet each other, I see a tension between them. Like, a romantic tension. I've known Lady Hiyori for so long so I can make out the difference. The way she reacts when Dr. Jayden approaches her is just...." Saki wondered.

Miyu remained silent.

"You've also known her for so long. So, I could only ask you. Do you see what I see?" Saki held Miyu's palms.

I was right. Saki does have doubts about us. No wonder she wants answers from me.

"Well, I was always in my ward and now I'm in my room so I haven't seen much. If I had, I would've told you." Miyu said.
