Hot headed and cold is the epitome of Alaska St.James. At least, that's what people saw on the outside. And that's what she wanted them to see. But when she moves to a new school with her best friend and brother, she finds that maybe bei...

"....Your hair is longer."
"Please God, kill me now."
Alaska groans, not even attempting to whisper as the awkward silence was brought to an end only for the awkward conversation to begin.
She ran a hand down her face and sighed.
For the love of all that is Holy and Unholy, why the actual fuck did she think that prompting Bella and her father to talk was a good idea?
She should have known better since they were both Swans.
"It was doomed from the start." She mumbled softly.
Being awkward and creating uncomfortable situations was practically in their DNA. Nothing and no one can stop this regrettable situation now.
Speaking of a regrettable situation, Alaska was already frustrated and on her way to causing trouble.
She was unhappy that Forks seemed to be just as boring as Phoenix, unhappy that she was riding in a police car, and unhappy with the uncomfortable display of affection that came in the form of weird remarks and silent glances coming from the Swans in the front seat.
Alex hit the back of his sister's head as she groaned for the seventh time that hour, thinking his sister was being extremely immature. He knew she was irritated with the conversation but what did she think would happen? The daughter and father hadn't seen each other in forever. It was bound to be a little weird for everyone.
Ignoring Alaska's groan of despair, Bella looked at her hair and back to her father.
"I cut it since last time I saw you." She answered, just as awkward as he was. They shared hesitant glances once more, arousing another groan from Alaska.
Charlie gave Alaska a knowing look, almost like he agreed with her about the situation, before glancing back at his daughter.
"Oh...guess it grew out again." He gave back, just as stuck as she was on where to go from there.
Alaska pushed her head between the seat and looked at the mustached man in irritation.
"Yeah, that's what happens when you get off all the dead ends. Speaking of dead ends, this whole conversation seems to be one." She retorted, head swiveling from one Swan to the next.
Alex pulled his sister back, chuckling nervously.
"Alaska, be respectful to the nice cop. Or should I say nice sheriff who can have you locked up faster than you can make a sarcastic comment." Alex muttered in her ear, eyeing Bella's dad to see his reaction, not trusting him just yet.
