(A/N: He looked royal in the picture and I was trying to avoid using fanart, though they were all really pretty!)

There was a knock on my door. I stood up from my small wooden chair. It was quite late, which had me wondering who would want to see me at this hour. Who'd want to see a commoner anyway? I opened the door, only to find a tall figure in a brown cloak.

"Can I help you?" I asked quietly.

"If you would be so kind to let me in?" The man said. I recognized the voice and moved aside, closing the door once he had entered. He took his hood off and smiled at me.

"Suho!" I hugged him, which he returned. "What brings you to a commoner's home?" He laughed.

"Seeing my childhood friend, of course."

I smiled, then invited him to sit down at the dining table, farther from the door. "It's the most comfortable I have."

"Don't worry about it, Y/N."

I took a seat in the chair next to him, and we talked for a bit.

"Do you remember when we were younger, and the knights found you and said you were king?" I asked, reminiscing.

"Ah yes." He chuckled. "We were both shocked, I believe."

"Quite."

"I was sad to leave you though. I'd leave it all behind if I could. Spending time with you was better than any luxury I could be given." We smiled at each other.

"You honour me, Your Grace." I stood up and bowed to him. He gave me a light smack on the arm as we laughed.

"You know you don't have to use 'Your Grace' and all that when it's just the two of us."

"I know. But it's fun to tease you."

Then I heard a loud knocking. Looking over to the wall, where the door stood behind it, I thought, are they using a club to knock? I made my way to the door. Suho was hidden from view, so I had no concern about him being seen, though he observed me carefully. I opened the door, freezing about seeing the small group in front of me.

"How may I be of service to you, sers?" I politely asked the knights.

"Have you seen the king?"

"I..."

They shoved me aside and looked around the house, quickly finding their king standing in the dining room.

"My lord." The knights knelt. One spoke up. "You should not be here, my lord. Has the commoner brought you here?"

"No-"

"We can take care of it, Your Grace. Just give us the word."

"You will do nothing." His tone was one that you didn't want to question. I was still amazed as to how he changed so much when he took his role as king.

Surprised, the knight looked at him. "My lord? Are you aware that this commoner has been rumoured to have stolen items?"

"Stolen what, ser?"

He started listing a few things that were visible in the small house. I was shocked. I never imagined I'd be falsely accused of anything.

Suho glared at the knight, then looked to me, his gaze softening. "I know Y/N well enough to be able to say that what you claiming holds no truth."

"Pardon me for asking, Your Grace, but how would you know this?"

"Do you remember when you, ser, found me as a child and informed me of my rightful title?"

"I do, my lord."

"And you do you remember someone else being there with me?"

"Yes."

"Y/N is the one who accompanied me at the time." Suho beckoned me forward. I made my way over, to his side. "Ser, I ask you to apologize to Y/N."

The knight faced me, then bowed his head. I could easily tell that this was the last thing he wanted to do at the moment. "I apologize for falsely accusing you of theft. It was wrong of me."

"I accept your apology, ser. It's nothing for you to worry about."

"Unless you have true proof of someone committing a crime," Suho began. "do not accuse them. I trust you have learnt this, ser. Now off with you and your men."

"Yes, my lord." They all got up and left, shutting the door behind them.

"I'm so sorry for that." He apologized. "I know you wouldn't steal anything and was angered that they would say that about you."

"It's nothing, Suho. Don't worry." We smiled to each other.

Then he placed his hands on the side of my face and kissed my forehead. My mind went blank and I stopped moving completely.

"Suho...?" I couldn't form the proper words to voice my question, but he seemed to understand.

"Y/N, I may not be able to leave everything behind for you, but I can always ensure your safety and find a way to have you rule by my side."

"Rule by your-your side?" I stuttered, shocked at the thought.

"I love you, and wish to be able to keep you with me as much as possible without having to hide." He took my hand and kissed the back of it. "But only if you feel the same. I won't force you."

"I- I do. I... I love you too."

He smiled at me. "It's settled then. We only need to be patient now. I will find a way, Y/N. I promise."

I grinned happily. "I'm sure you will. You can be quite determined when you want to be." I chuckled.

"That is true. I will see you soon then, my love."

"No 'my love's. We shouldn't start that habit."

"Yet."

We laughed, then he left.
