The next few days were spent talking to Laura(who ended up being the only person (Y/N) liked at school, working, and being bullied by the girl who we learned was named Alex. They didn't know of course about the man that had been watching the bullying go down and reporting back to his boss, keeping tabs on them. One day (Y/N) had had enough and decided to confront Alex.
(Y/N) walked up to Alex, who they learned sat at an empty table in the corner of the room and told her they needed to talk. They noticed Alex's lunch, which had been nothing more than a piece of bread and a milk carton. (Y/N) thought that it may just be a diet or something, considering Alex was really skinny. Worryingly skinny actually...
Alex looked down at her lunch with a dirty and sad look. "What do you want, you fucking loser?"
"Come with me," I say as I drag her outside to a wall where I can talk to her in private. "Alright, what's your deal? Why do you keep bullying us, and more specifically, why do you keep picking on Laura?"
"...why do you even care, (Y/N)? I just knock your stupid food over.."
(Y/N) notices something was up with Alex and sits down on the floor. They motion Alex to sit next to them, and Alex slides her back down the floor. She folds her knees to her chest, and we talk for a bit. After a while of talking, she begins to cry, telling me about her family life where they don't feed her, but still expect her to look her best, and even play soccer after school. They let her stop after she passed out from malnutrition and almost got them caught. They treated her like a doll, and showed (Y/N) her stomach(where you could see her ribs very clearly) to prove it.
"Hey, come talk to Laura with me. Let's set something up," (Y/N) says, standing up and helping Alex up. She looks confused, but follows.
"Laura." Laura looks up to (Y/N), her eyes widening as she sees Alex walking behind them while staring at the floor.
"(Y/N)? What are you doing with Alex?"
They explain the situation, and decide to see if they could have a sleepover for (Y/N)'s birthday so that they could figure out what to do.
The man had not been around for the last few days, not seeing the friendship blossoming...
