Chapter 4: A Celebration and A Surprise

It was already 6:45pm when Sakura and Ino made it back to the pinkette's house...  The pinkette was sitting on the edge of her bed just staring at the two dress choices her platinum blonde friend had chosen for her...  One looked like something a lady of the night would wear and the second dress was beautiful, but she felt it was way too fancy...  Sakura was a Kunoichi, not a girly girl...  She would rather wear her ninja outfit or a lab coat...  She let out a sigh of hesitation, but told herself that she promised to embrace change and that's what she is going to do... 

She tried on the skimpy dress first...  It was a tight, short, strapless red dress. Her assets were almost hanging out on both ends no matter which way she pulled it up or down...  She felt totally uncomfortable...

Ino yelled at her on the other side of the door... "Don't make me come in there Forehead and force those dresses on you!!!  I want to see what you look like!!!"

Sakura didn't want to show her, but Ino barged in anyway...

"Girl you look so hot!!!  Takumi will not know what hit him when he lays his eyes on you!!!"

"NO! INO!  I am not going to Naruto's party looking like I was hired!!!  GET OUT and let me try on the other dress!"

Ino pouted but walked out anyway as the pinkette slammed the door behind her... "How rude!" She said to herself...

About 5 minutes later she walked up to the door and before she could say anything she could hear the pinkette crying...  She immediately opened the door and began to ask... "Sakura... Are you o..."  She stopped in her tracks and her jaw just dropped open...  She was gazing on her best friend and at that moment thought to herself...  She is absolutely gorgeous!!!  Ino snapped out of her mind and finished her sentence...  "Why are you crying?  You look totally amazing!!!"

The pinkette looked at herself in the mirror...  The dress was pink like the shade of her hair with a white trim at the top. It fit her perfectly...  She was not surprised as Ino had the gift for everything fashion...  It wasn't that she didn't like how she looked...  She absolutely loved the dress...  It's just she had always dreamed that one day she would finally blossom into the beautiful flower that Ino said she would long ago and in that moment she was always hoping it would be the raven that would finally notice...  Sadness crept into her heart as her mind drifted back to that day...

She was in flower arranging class with Ino and comparing her arrangement with the platinum blondes...  She asked...  "Your flowers have already bloomed?  They are stunning!  What kind of flowers are they?"

Ino said... "These are cosmos and they are the most beautiful flowers in the world!"

The pinkette said with a smile... "Just like you, Ino!"  Then she blushed a bit and asked "If you are a cosmos, then what kind of flower do you think I am?"  She was asking because she felt like she couldn't even compare to Ino because of her enormous forehead...  She was gorgeous and well to herself she thought she was... Ugly...  The pinkette was staring at her own arrangement and the fact that not one of her flowers had bloomed yet...

Ino thought for a second and responded with a gentle smile... "Don't worry, you're just still a bud, waiting to bloom.  Just like your arrangement...  You need to be confident in yourself!  Let's just say that I think it would be a waste if you wilt away as nothing but a bud. I mean, how sad is it if flowers never bloom?"  She took out one of the un-bloomed flowers from Sakura's vase and said...  "For all we know, this little bud might become a flower even more beautiful than a cosmos!"

Sakura snapped back to the present and finally spoke... "Gomen, I was just thinking back in our conversation about cosmos flowers long ago..." 

Ino didn't even skip a beat and said... "Well, tonight you finally bloomed into a beautiful flower!  But it's 7:10pm!!!  We need to go now or we will be late!!!"
