"Why is he here?" Mark whisper-yelled to Jeno, who sighed and then leaned closer to him, in attempt to make sure Donghyuck wasn't able to hear him, which he was by the way.

"I wanted to hang out with him when you called me for help," Jeno started, remembering how his phone got bombarded with texts from Mark, all asking for mental and emotional help. Being the amazing friend he was, he thought that the best way to solve the problem was by making the two sit opposite each other and talk it all out.

"So Mark," Donghyuck interfered, seeing how the conversation between Jeno and Mark only consisted of constant whispers and elbow nudges. "What did you mean when you said you love me?"

Mark froze in his seat, the forced smile that was plastered over his face remained there, and he discreetly tapped Jeno's foot under the table, requesting some sort of back up.

"He was drunk," Jeno explained, catching the way Donghyuck shot him a look, which he knew meant shut up, but decided to continue speaking, because for once he was going to help Mark, or so Mark assumed. "He was blurting out nonsense, even asked me out."

Mark, who had been sipping his milkshake, choked on the milk and held a hand to his mouth. He snapped his head towards Jeno, first thinking that he might be speaking the truth and that Mark didn't remember it, but then the smug expression on Jeno's face cleared his assumption and he angrily shook his head.

"I never said that!" Mark complained, frowning as he saw Donghyuck look at the two with confusion and he didn't look very amused. "I mean— I never asked Jeno out."

"Alright," Donghyuck replied, and Mark stared at him with expectancy, waiting for something more. But when the younger didn't give another reply, he realised he had actually believed the stupid excuse Jeno had given."But do know," Mark raised his head from his milkshake and locked with with Donghyuck. "I hate you."

"What?" Mark shrieked and Jeno burst out into laughter. The people in the cafe turned around to see what the commotion was about and all they saw was a red-faced Mark, an teary eyed Jeno and a very serious Donghyuck. "You— why do you hate me?"

"There's this feeling in my heart," Donghyuck started, dramatically bringing a hand up to his chest and let out a deep breath, as if he was thinking hard about the reason. "Whenever I think of you, I feel really warm instead."

"You feel warm?" Mark questioned, and hit Jeno under the table so that he would stop cackling. "Why do you think that's hate?"

"I've never felt this way toward someone before," Donghyuck explained, as if what he said made any sense. It didn't, but Donghyuck expression made it seem as if he was speaking some wise words. "I've never felt hatred towards someone, and so, I hate you."

"Stop saying that!" Mark complained, feeling his heart ache but swell at the same time because Lee Donghyuck was talking to him.

"Sto saying what? That I hate you?" Donghyuck asked, raising and eyebrow as Mark nodded furiously. His mouth tugged up into a smirk and he spoke again. "I hate you, Mark Lee. I hate you."

"No!" Mark cried out and buried his head in his arms. Donghyuck fought the urge to laugh at his cute— wait cute? Anyways, his strange antics. He was acting a lot different to what Donghyuck had thought he would behave like. After catching the way he had nearly gotten late on his first day, the way Mark would stare at him (he now seemed to remember all those times), he had assumed the older was weirded out by him.

"Leave the poor boy alone," Jeno chuckled, patting Mark's head affectionately before turning to Donghyuck and winking at him. "He just got rejected by his crush, so please ignore him."

"Jeno, shut up!" Mark, feeling more embarrassed than before, stood up and grabbed his milkshake. "I'm leaving."

"Oh, don't get so sad, baby," Donghyuck halted Mark's movements by holding onto his wrist. The pet name escaped his mouth before he could think about anything, but he didn't regret it. The way Mark spun around, almost knocking his milkshake out of his own hands, and stared at Donghyuck with pure shock was priceless.

"What did you just say?" Mark questioned, abandoning his half-drunk milkshake on the side and leaned into Donghyuck's personal space. Their faces were inches apart and Mark's heartbeat was rising above the roof, but finding out what Donghyuck had just said and what it meant was more important. "What did you just say right now?"

"I said, you don't have you get so sad," Donghyuck pouted innocently, as if he didn't know what Mark was talking about. Mark threw his head back in frustration before invading Donghyuck's perianal space again.

"You called me baby, didn't you?" Mark frowned as Donghyuck tilted his head to the side again, a confused expression on his face despite the clear smugness present in his eyes.

"I don't remember saying such a thing, do you, Jeno?" Donghyuck turned to Jeno, who shrugged in response.

"Mark's probably just imagining things. What can I say, he's really invested in this crush," Jeno snickered and Donghyuck joined in with him. Mark looked at the two in disbelief and huffed out in annoyance.

"I don't have a crush on Donghyuck!" Mark stompted his foot on the ground, hoping it could make him look even the slightest bit intimidating, but instead caused the two who were giggling to double over and laugh loudly.

"Sure you don't, cutie," Donghyuck yelled as Mark ran out of the cafe, too embarrassed to stay in there for any longer.

Donghyuck didn't really know much about Mark Lee. All he knew was that Mark went to his school, they were in the same class because he had to repeat a year, Mark seemed like a rebellious boy but was truly just a pure boy to heart. Donghyuck really didn't know much about him, but so far, he was kinda cute.

And on top of that, he was fun to tease.
