After being attacked by the Avengers and left for dead. Hydra found her and took her in against her will. For Hydra they saw a great opportunity to use her skills.

Infiltriating into S.H.I.E.L.D.

As one who worked alone , at first wasn't keen on being with Hydra, but after finding out that they could make her stronger and help her kill Tony Stark she agreed to join them.

This meant that her secret relationship with the web slinger could potentially end, but she was filled with rage at the time and her head was only filled with revenge and hate. That Felicia was willing to risk what they had for more power.

Brainwashing her to forget all about Peter Parker and the rest of the Avengers. She was trained as a killer weapon.

With only mere memories of her past pulling her back into reality. Felicia struggled to differentiate reality from made believe that she ended up hurting the only person who still believed in her and loved her. [Peter Parker].

But

Nothing lasts forever though as more of her memories kept coming back to her in time , they began to hunt her. This made her very confused that she nearly forgot who she was before all this.

Felicia Hardy was no more in the eyes of Hydra. Black Cat was her only alias name.

Her relationship with Peter was nearly destroyed the day she nearly killed him.

He made her remember who she was that Felicia was forced to retreat and hide away for a long time.

Thus terminating her relationship with the web slinger.
