Chap 8

Alexis' POV

"Where are they?" I asked as Blake held my hand. "We've been here for over an hour."

"We ate here," said Drew.

"Looks like someone is performing here," said Devin. He pointed to the banner that said tonight. "Tonight."

"Hm," I said. I saw a flyer and ran over to it. I took it off the wall. "Oh no."

"What?" asked Blake walking over to me. "Who's performing here tonight?"

"You guys," I said showing Blake the flyer. He took it out of my hands. "Why didn't Jonnie tell you this?"

"Maybe because he just texted us," said Drew walking over to us."

"It's not just us performing," said Blake.

"What?" I asked.

"Look at who we're featuring in tiny print," said Blake.

I did and it was mine and Britt's name. "I didn't sign up for this," I said.

"Sorry?" questioned Devin.

"Hey," said Britt walking up to us.

"Cyndel," I said. I hugged her. "Looks like some light shined in on my day."

"Glad to be that light," said Cyndel.

"You guys know each other?" asked TC.

"Yeah, we've been friends on instagram for a few years," I said.

"Well, she's touring with us," said TC.

"Welcome on board," I said smiling. "But we have a little situation."

"The guys are performing tonight," said Britt. "Here."

"Not just the guys," I said. "It's featuring us."

"I don't think he meant for the whole concert," said Drew. "I think he only meant for Hey Juliet."

"They're also dancing," said Jonnie.

"What?" asked Jayk as we turned to face Jonnie.

"The girls are dancing with you, except for her," said Jonnie pointing at Cyndel.

"We're not dancers," said Britt.

"Do you know the dance?" asked Jonnie.

"Yes but —"

"Then you're dancing," Jonnie said cutting me off.

"I can only play guitar," I said. "Britt on the keyboard." I looked at Jonnie. "I think the guys are perfectly fine dancing and singing by themselves. Britt and I will probably get in the way of the formation."

"Yeah, the guys perform perfectly without us," said Britt.

"I think it's a great opportunity," said Cyndel.

"We're trying to not do this," I whispered to her.

"Right," said Cyndel. "Yeah, them onstage? It'll mess up everything."

"Mostly the formation because then you'll have to make sure we get everything right," I said. "It's just too complicated and too much to get done."

Blake's POV

"Actually, we can use you guys," I said. "It makes it more fun for me to mess with the formation." Alexis looked at me like really. "Or not."

"It's done," said Jonnie. "You guys are dancing with the guys. The guitar and keyboard will be set onstage." He smiled. "Meet and greet room is upstairs. You can practice up there. It's labeled After Romeo reserved."

"Alright," said Alexis. "Let's go and get this over with." We walked up to the room. "This is a nice room. Looks like a studio."

"Looks like this is where I'll be while you're performing," said Cyndel.

"Actually, you'll be taking HD photos," said Jonnie handing her a Kodak camera. "We will be posting those on instagram."

"Oh, so I do get to see this concert," said Cyndel.

"You will every concert," said Jonnie. "Have fun rehearsing." He left.

"Break me now," said Alexis.

"Hey, it's actually pretty fun," I said.

"As long as I don't have to change for the meet and greet," said Alexis.

"You don't have to," said Drew. "We choose to but you don't have to."

"Alright," said Alexis. "Because I am not changing."

"You don't have to," I said. We practiced for three hours and it was five. "We did it."

"Now you gotta perform in an hour," said Jonnie walking in. "You close with Hey Juliet right after Love On Lock, alright?"

"We got it," said Alexis. "Let's go." We went down to the first floor and waiting behind the door. Todd was almost done performing. "My first After Romeo concert where I'm not in the audience."

"Well, you weren't in the audience when you were my SAY Girl," I said hugging Alexis from behind.

"That's different," said Alexis.

"I'm going out there so I can get shots of you walking out," said Cyndel as she left.

"Alright," said Alexis.

"Guys, get ready," said Drew. "We're about to go on."

"Alright," I said letting go of Alexis. "Britt, you leading us?"

"We didn't plan that," said Britt. "I am behind TC in the formation."

"Alright," I said. "Before our after the dance doesn't change." The door opened. "Let's do this."
