Britt's POV

"Okay," I said. "Drew, are you and Cierra going to stay here?"

"We're actually going out for a walk," said Cierra.

"Yeah," said Drew. "We'll be back."

"Okay," said TC as they left. "Jayk? Devin? What are you going to do?"

"Stay home," said Jayk. "Cook for my little bro and I." I looked at Jayk. "Just kidding. I'm going to take Jayn to dinner."

"What?" asked Jayn.

"Dev?" asked TC.

"I'll call someone," said Devin.

"Okay," I said. "I guess we're out." TC and I got in my car. "Where are we headed?"

"Hand me the keys," said TC. I did and he started driving. "A little place I wanna show you that I showed no one else."

"Okay," I said. I sat quietly in my seat. We were on a beaten path off the main road. We came to a swing in the middle of a field. We got out and TC stood behind the swing. "TC, why are we out here in the middle of the night?"

"We got a lamp," said TC. The lamp post was lit. "Sit." I sat in the swing. "I came out here all the time to clear my mind."

"It's very peaceful," I said. "If I clear my mind, and let go, I can see why you do."

"Britt, did you ever regret it?" asked TC.

I looked at him. "No," I said. "Do you?"

"Not one bit," said TC.

"I do have one question though," I said. "Jayk and Jayn. They okay?"

"Let me tell you one thing," said TC. "Jayn says their besties. Jayk is crushing on her. He wants them to be more than friends."

"Why don't he make the move?" I asked. "Make sense. They'll be totally cute together."

"I agree," said TC as he hugged me from behind. "They make things complicated."

"Unless it's Jayk who doesn't want to complicate things," I said. "But Jayk complicates a lot of things."

"Tell me about it," said TC. "Sometimes I think he's a completely different person."

"Yeah, me too," I said. "It's just...he's happier when Jayn's around."

TC's POV

"I see that too," I said. "But back to what we talking about before." She looked at me. "I mean, we just got together Monday. It hasn't even been a full week."

"TC, you are the one I would risk my life for," said Britt. "I don't regret anything that happened that night. Ever." She looked at me. "You're really complicating things now, Teec. Look, that night, I have to say was the best night of my life. I wouldn't trade it for anything."

"I'm glad we cleared that up," I said. "Now, I know you wanted something special for Valentine's day..."

"TC, Valentine's day is a day to spend a lot of money on a small expensive meal," said Britt. "I don't want that. Times like this are more worth while."

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah," said Britt.

"Well, you're going to hate me a lot more," I said.

"What?" asked Britt.

"Okay, look. Blake is going to propose to Alexis today," I said. I looked at her. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Blake and Alexis are going to be engaged?" asked Britt.

"Yeah," I said. "But he needs my help."

"He needs your help?" asked Britt. "He's a hopeless romantic. He couldn't think of something?"

"He wanted to put the ring in a cake or a glass od champange," I said. "We both know Alexis isn't old enough to drink yet."

"She has five months left," said Britt.

"Yeah," I said. "He doesn't know how to propose to her and he wants to do it tonight."

"I'm sure he'll think of something," said Britt.

"He wants it to be special," I said. "He doesn't want to sing her a song either."

"But that's something original," said Britt. "A song that symbolizes their love."

"He didn't want to use Song About You," I said. "He said he's sung to many Juliets using that song."

"Well, I'll be damned," said Britt.

"I told him he could surprise her," I said. "Just something a little spontaneous."

"Well, Blake works in weird ways, I'm sure," said Britt. "But when it comes to Alexis, he'll go all out."

"You got that right. When he picked Alexis to be his SAY Girl, he did go all out," I said. "He looked at her a lot hoping she'll get the hint. He even winked at her." I looked at Britt. "I can see Alexis out of my periphrial vision and she would always have that hint of worry in her eyes because she was afraid that Blake wouldn't pick her."

"And he did," said Britt.

"Exactly, so knowing what Alexis likes is a little tricky," I said.

"Unless it's from her one best friend she shares everything with," said Britt.

"So, you know what Alexis likes," I said. "Text Blake and give him the details."
