Jungkook looked around the corner carefully before proceeding on. His hooded covered the majority of his face, only his eyes could be seen. It was pointless for him to do that, considering no one knows who he is, and no one will ever know of the deeds he committed. But it was habit, he'll need his brother to show him how to live life normally as a young man in the city. The rain lightly fell on his head as he walked to the soju shop. Some of his men had called to meet up one last time to drink and chat. Jungkook felt that it was unnecessary, but then again, he would have suggested the same thing.
There was something he wanted to ask them as well. The arcade employees told him that the place was searched thoroughly by some men in suits. From the looks of it, it's obvious they were looking for something, but what? Even the police had never figured out the actual location of the hideout, so how is it possible that the men could have known. Jungkook didn't want to believe it, but there was a good chance there was a rat in Black Pandora.
He saw the men sitting at their usual table in the back, already clinking shot glasses. Jungkook smiled fondly at them, he would miss the thrill and the bond they share. He took his designated spot next to In Sik, who was silent in comparison to the others. When Jungkook placed a hand on his shoulder, the older man jumped a little.
"Woah, it's just me." Jungkook laughed. In Sik nodded his head nervously in return. Jungkook noticed his legs were trembling. "Is everything alright?" he asked.
"Y-yeah. Everything is fine. I'm just hungry I guess." he answered then stuff his mouth with some meat so he wouldn't have to answer anymore. Jungkook thought nothing more of it and began drinking himself. He trusted In Sik, the man was there for him since the beginning and even invited him to eat with his family. There was no way that it was him, Jungkook was sure of it.
"What are you going to do now, boss?" someone asked. Jungkook had thought about this question since the first time it was asked at the meeting and this time, he finally had an answer.
"I'm gonna live my life as a normal guy." he told them. "Meeting new friends, going bowling, taking pictures, eating dinner with my family. Those opportunities were robbed from me at a young age and I need to make up for lost time before it's too late. I hope you all will take this chance to live the life you want."
The men mumbled amongst themselves and nodded. In Sik remained quiet, taking it all in. For a second, he was rethinking his plan. He couldn't stay mad at the boy who just wanted to live his life. But he was mad that the decision was going to change his life drastically. He observed the smile on the boy's face, it was so bright and childlike. His doe eyes lighting up as he talked to his men like friends. He could just let go and walk out the boy alone, but the money from the CEO was already in his pocket and there was more promised to come.
The drinking and chatting went on. In Sik didn't participate in most of it because he needed to stay sober for the mission. Jungkook started to feel dizzy, and considering he needed to get home so ajumma wouldn't get worried, he excused himself first. As he got up, In Sik bolted up and offered to take him home. Thinking nothing of it, Jungkook agreed and thanked the man. They began walking down the street, where light became a scarce resource. Jungkook, through starry eyes, could barely make out the road ahead. "Where are we going?" he slurred, almost tripping on thin air.
"Just a little bit more," In Sik answered, looking both ways to make sure there wasn't any late-night passerby or young couples looking for a getaway.
"Hey," Jungkook began, "I just want to say thank you for everything. Staying by my side and trusting me. I've grown a lot thanks to you."
"Uh, yeah, no problem. Thank you and sorry." In Sik whispered. When he decided that the coast was clear, he took the syringe of sleeping medicine provided by the CEO and raised his hand. They passed by a window and in a split second, Jungkook noticed the reflection from behind him and quickly jumped out of the way. In Sik was in shock at how fast he moved but then ran after him. The boy was drunk, so there was no way he could out strength In Sik. Little did the man know, Jungkook's alcohol tolerance was much higher than a regular person and his senses will never falter in any situation.
He ran towards the man, holding his arms up in hopes of getting some answers. "What do you think you're doing?" he growled. In Sik struggled but didn't answer. But he did manage to knock Jungkook down to the ground, and stomped on his leg, causing him to scream out loud.
"I'm sorry kid, I have a family to take care of."
"I trusted you."
"And that is your weakness." Just as he finished saying that, a group of men slowly formed a circle around them, all with weapons in their hand. Jungkook's heart was pounding. He stood up, feeling the aches in his body.
"All of you against me, that's almost not fair." he chuckled. "For you."
On cue, the men charged forward, weapons raised. Jungkook meticulously dodged all the attacked and swung his legs to kick some down. But the joy didn't last long. Soon, they got the upper hand and then he was running was his life. That was when he pulled out his phone to call his hyung.
