A Night Out

Warm spring air carry our voices

Through cracked windows

As we drift through main streets

Far from children

Yet we giggle with such innocence

Happy as our spirits connect

Our energies intermingle

After days apart

Every minute that passes by

Is a reminder that this will end

Until next time

So we make the most of the few hours we have

A walk through a shop

a little trinket here

An ornament there

We don't have much money

A little to spend

A lot to save

But the moments are precious

The memories valuable

A stroll through the woods

A skip here

A stomp there

Our voices are carried through the trees

Dancing along the setting sun

We don't talk about much in particular

Ironically,

Its mostly about where to next

Lets spend less time thinking

More time doing

Perhaps now we'll eat

The same food we always eat

But as we sit in front of each other

Atmosphere at ease

It all somehow taste better

Because when we're together

Everything is just a little better

And on the ride home

We talk a little quicker

Giggle a littler louder

For in a few moments we'll say goodbye

As soon as we lay to rest

Our hearts yearn

For one another

For another night out

Together
