Maggie walks up to her apartment door, the light turning on automatically, and sighs. She had just left her sister's house where Alex had basically kicked everyone out because she was 'tired' but Maggie saw her staring at her phone excitedly before she kicked everyone out. Alex obviously wasn't tired but Maggie didn't have too much of a problem with leaving.

She had a great time with her girl friends but she really was tired and didn't know how much longer she could keep up the façade. The façade of being okay.

Dylan was acting different and Maggie didn't know why. She knew everything about him. She knew he hated broccoli but not cauliflower, she knew he was lactose intolerant but he always ate ice cream with her, and she knew he loved the color blue because it was the color of her eyes.

So not knowing what caused this shift in him was killing her. Dylan was her heart, her home but right now, it felt like he shouldn't be.

But then Autumn comes trotting out of the shadows and sits at her feet and all the sadness and doubts disappear from her mind. Maggie reaches down and rubs under the dog's collar, Autumn's sweet spot.

Dylan discovered this spot in the middle of the night when they had first adopted him. Autumn had been abused and neglected in his first home so he was always very nervous around the couple. But when Dylan had rubbed under his collar, Autumn calmed down completely and even snuggled into Dylan's side.

Dylan had stifled his screams as to not alarm Autumn and began whacking Maggie's sleeping form. Bruises appeared on Maggie's torso the next day but Maggie didn't care. Finding this sweet spot was just the beginning of making Autumn comfortable with them, of making him a part of their family.

Maggie picks Autumn up off the floor and opens the door to their home. Maggie doesn't make it through the front door.

She stops right at the entrance and stares at the living room alight with an abundance of the candles and sunflowers, roses, and heart shaped chocolate boxes strategically strewn around the room. Much of the couch isn't visible due to the giant teddy bear on it. In the teddy bear's arms, is a poster which reads: welcome home, my love.

Dylan pops his head our from behind the giant teddy bear, a soft smile on his face. Maggie mirrors his face.

Autumn then decides he doesn't want to be in Maggie's arms anymore and jumps out of his mother's arms, heading down the hall assumingly to his bed and food bowls.

Maggie and Dylan move closer together, meeting right in front of their glass coffee table. "Hey." Maggie says, "Whatcha up to?"

Dylan chuckles and pulls a small box out of his pant's pocket. Maggie gasps when he opens it up reveal a diamond ring. "Oh, nothing much, you know, just gonna ask the love of my life to marry me."

"Nothing too important, I see." Tears shine in both of their eyes as they laugh.

"Stop making me laugh, babe. This is supposed to be romantic."

"It is romantic! I swear. " Maggie reaches over and intertwines their fingers. "Even though, all these candles are a fire hazard."

"Oh, shut up. Who are you? Jo?" They laugh once more and Maggie looks around again.

"Did you get this off of my tumblr or my pinterest?"

"Off of your 'love' board on pinterest." Dylan replies, giving Maggie a smile which she returns. "Okay, back to the point of all of this."

"Okay." Maggie smiles even wider as Dylan gets down on one knee.

"Maggie, you know I love you right?"

"Really? I had no idea. It's not like we live together, adopted a do together." Maggie jokes, now feeling absolutely happy. He was acting weird because he was going to propose. "God, I thought you were in love with Matthew."

"Oh my god, stop." Dylan facepalms, stifling his laughter. "I'm trying to propose to you, Maggie. I'm trying to make you my wife."

"I know, I can see that." Maggie moves his hand off his face, going down on her knees to be equal height with him. "Go. Do it."

"You can't be on your knees, Maggie! I have to be shorter."

"But why?" Maggie reaches over and grabs Dylan's face in her hands. He pouts.

"It's tradition."

"Okay, Tevye." Maggie says, mockingly.

"You're not going to let me do this are you?"

"Nope." Maggie replies, giving him a cheeky grin.

Dylan scoffs, "Just put the ring on."

"Okay, my fiancé."

"Ugh, I had a whole speech planned out too." Dylan says as Maggie puts the ring on.

"Give me the highlights."

"Uhhhh- okay" He clears his throat, "You're my McDreamy, Maggie. You are my moon and all my stars."

Maggie laughs, looking away from her engagement ring. "Dylan, I love you but god- you're so cheesy."

"You're the cheesy one! I got that off your pinterest!"
