"Why am I here again," Queen mumbled to herself, "Seriously."
It has been days since she steps foot on this restaurant and she has been frequently coming over with the same spot, which is further back from the little platform upfront. Queen preferred being away from people, she gets self-conscious most of the time.
She nibbled at her pancake that was ordered an hour ago. Feeling stupid for eating pancakes when the sun is out. She sighed and ate it whole not wanting anymore witnesses at her stupidity, well it was clumsy of her as she stumbled upon her order when she reached the counter and ordered the first dish she could read and not wanting to look more dumb she just stood up for her decision even though the clerk was concerned if she really wanted pancakes for dinner. She just shrugged and walk off to her table, mighty stupid of her, and she punched herself internally as she realized how it was more embarrassing.
Queen usually orders hot chocos or juices when she visits but she thought of making a change but turned out humiliating. Now she made a mental note to check on to their menus online and jot down which sounded delicious and be proper and elegant next time.
The intro music starts and Queen perked up, getting excited with sparkly eyes as she waited for her favorite singer. He has been singing most of the nights and he was always cool. Ivan was his name as he usually introduce before singing, and then he would talk a little with jokes or the weather. Queen smiled at this, he was really good at talking to people, even to a large group of them. She envied him but admired him at the same time.
The crowd now clapped and Queen snapped out of her daydream with bright awaiting eyes but it fell dull as she saw a couple of indie band introducing and then play the crowd's favorite. Her eyes drooped down as she was disappointed, it was the first time Ivan did not show up in this gig. But she stayed nonetheless as she enjoyed the calming music of this new band.
Slumping her head on the round table, she sighed and closed her eyes, letting go of the stress...
"Umm... Hey?" an oddly familiar voice suddenly shook her awake from her mini nap that she didn't intend to do.
"Huh-Wha?" Queen groggily raised her head, blinked slowly the sleep away and try to make sense of everything.
"Miss, sorry to interrupt your beauty sleep but I have to tell you that —"
"Ah! eh AAAA... I'm so sorry!" Queen exclaimed apologetically as she ducked her head in embarrassment, she didn't mean to sleep all the way, but then she remembered something important.
She shoved her hand inside her bag, fumbling over her phone and powered it on, only to worsen her terrified expression.
"Oh no-no-no. I'm dead late!", she ran her hand over her short ebony hair as to try to look presentable and then turned to the person who woke her up, "I'm really really sorry, I-I didn't mean to... I'll be going now!", she stood up and looked at the person, realizing that what she did might have been stupid so she bowed her head again letting her strands cover her face. And made a dash outside the cafe.
"Ah! Wait—"
Queen, didn't have time to look back hailed a cab immediately and off she went.
