"I was about to say it's hot, but there you go," Louis said and sat beside her, drinking his coffee as if it weren't just as hot as Queen's, "there was a coffee machine beside it, so I took two... You seemed pretty cold."
Not minding anymore Queen asked the first question that popped in her mind, "How did you know where I work?"
Louis smiled sheepishly at her and answered, "I kind of read something on your notes when you left your bag last time..."
"Sneaky" Queen remarked.
"But I was only looking for your number to contact you!" Louis defended.
"..."
"I swear! but I didn't see any number"
But Queen just let it go, seeing that Louis was being honest. After a moment of silence and coffee sipping, though she didn't like it.
Louis spoke up.
"I'm sorry..."
Queen didn't expect to hear it from Louis so she had a questioned look on her face as if to say she didn't catch it.
Louis sighed in return and said, "About last week, I'm sorry I said that... It was uncalled for"
Queen stayed silent, thinking of what she must reply. But Louis interpreted her silence as her still sulking, so he explained himself.
"As you can see, I've been with girls fawning over Ivan, and then go crazy and try to harass him or like tryna be all cute but just a bunch of carnivorous amazons—," he paused after seeing Queen's narrowed eyes, "except you of course, but now I have confirmed that you weren't that kind of girl."
A faint blush crept to her face at such compliment, though she doubts it in the back of her mind. Louis being sincere was rare to Queen, though she has only known him for a month and a half, this time felt genuine. So she smiled at him and forgave him.
Louis felt blissful at her response like someone accepting his love confession.
"Thank you! Thank you, your grace! you are too generous!" Louis jested, putting his empty cup aside and bowed his head.
"I take it back" Queen grimaced.
"No! No! don't!" Louis looked like a puppy pouting at her and Queen laughed silently at his comical behavior.
But feeling like she needed to say something Queen said," And I'm sorry too..."
"Eh? for what?"
"Uhm... for reacting that way, you know... walking out and stuffs" Queen faintly sighed and looked down, feeling annoyed at how childish it was of her.
"It was my fault, to begin with..." Louis said and then took a sip at his cup, but forgot that it was already empty but still acted as if it was still full to look cool while saying those things.
But Queen catching on his comical behavior snorted at how silly he looked. Then she paused to ask the next question.
"Hey, how did you know my shift ends at dawn?"
Louis looked sideways at her when she asked, and kept moving the cup in a circular motion as if to stir liquid inside, "Well... you had the same clothes when you came to get your bag... on Tuesday," he said while about to take a sip and thought better of it and threw the cup on the nearby trash bin, "it made sense."
Queen just made an 'o' form with her mouth and nodded in agreement and laughed once more, Louis being curious asked why she was laughing so Queen told him at how funny that incident would have been if it was in a spectator's view.
