"Welcome to your new room" Anabelle said as we entered our room.
I stepped in and admired it. I smiled. At least, this can be a space I look forward to come back to after school.
The room was painted pink and white. The curtains were pink as well. It was quite large and had good ventilation. There was a closet next to each bed and a two couches at the end of the room. Each of us had our own reading table and chair with a lamp beside our bed.
I continued to struggle with my suitcase. I was breathing heavily. This stuff is substantial as hell.
"Little help?" I called
She chuckled
"What?" I asked her "what's funny?"
"The fact that your maids brought your other suitcases yesterday but you can't carry this one. It's not even heavy"
"I never have to carry stuff... Ever... Except my phone"
She shook her head and laughed.
"That's your bed" she told me pointing at it "That's mine" she pointed to the bed beside mine.
The bed was dressed in a blue bedspread with a matching pillow. It was beside the window and for that I was grateful.
I can imagine playing music and smoking while gazing at the stars in the middle of the night.
Luckily, Anabelle is my roommate and her bed is next to mine but there are three beds so I wonder who owns the last one.
"You smoke?" I asked her
"Yeah. Not all the time though"
"Cool"
"Oh no, don't get too hyped. Smoking is not allowed"
I smirked
"Who said I was gonna play by the rules?"
Trust me to be able to get a dealer in Rome already. I have connections everywhere. My friend that deals with all sorts of drugs promised to hook me up with someone in Rome.
"You have to. Our other roommate; Mary is a fucking snitch. She's a religious fanatic"
"I can tell by her name" I joked
I dragged my suitcase to my bed and sat on it. I looked around, taking in the setting of the room. I like everything about it so far.
The walls are painted pink which is my favourite colour. The bed is comfortable. We have our own bathroom plus there's good lighting which will be good for taking selfies
Anabelle laid upwards on her bed. I stretched out my legs and continued reading the school's guidebook
"So.." Anabelle started, turning on her side to face me "Did you leave any boyfriend behind?"
"Well there is this guy. We weren't really a couple, we just hooked up exclusively but I had to come school here, nothing serious.. . I do miss him"
"Aww, how are you guys gonna cope now?"
"I don't know. Uh...constant texting?"
"Let's hope it works out"
"Me too. I've never been too good with relationships"
"Same here"
I continued reading but then I decided to ask her the same thing.
"What about you?" I asked her "Or are you single?"
"I can't believe I'm telling you this but I'm actually gay"
"What?!"
That made me remember Rainer again. Why does everything in this school remind me of him? This is going to be harder than I thought.
