Finding your way through life is not easy. Ups and downs are present everywhere. Maybe when you grow up you clearly understand that life is not a bed of roses.

"Abal! Abal! Hey! Wake up! You can't sleep here."

Abal stirred a little and woke up from her sleep. She raised her head from the table she was napping on. A medical book laid under her head. Yes, she's a doctor.

"Uh, sorry I don't know when I accidentally slept. I had no intentions of sleeping."

"Oh! It's alright! These books are natural sleeping pills.", Ahmer joked.

"You've studied them too. And be grateful to them, you're here today because of these prestigious books." Ahmer laughed at Abal's reply.

"My rounds are about to start. I better get going.", she said looking at her watch.

"Yeah I know, that's why I'm here waking you up from your slumber. Here take your fuel or else you might look like a zombie by the end of your shift.", Ahmer said while passing Abal a cup of cappuccino.
"Thank you Dr. Ahmer! I'll see you later." Abal stood up from her chair and picked the lab coat hanging on a hook beside the door. With a last glance at Ahmer she left the room.

Her life was easy before. Her mother left her as soon as she turned 18. Abiha was a great mother. She was the only parent figure in Abal's life. Abal's father was never in the picture since the beginning. She had never seen him. The only thing she heard from her mom was that he father was the best husband.  But Abal begged to differ. She didn't even know his name.

She opened the door to Ward IV and greeted her first patient. "Ricko, how are you? I heard you've been a good boy lately. Where is your mum?", she asked the 7 year old anemic boy.

"She went to eat something doc. And yeah I have to be good. I want to make my mum happy. I know she silently cries at night when she thinks I'm sleeping."
Abal looked up from the file which included Ricko's medical history and smiled at him. He was quite smart for his age.
"Just be strong and you'll be as fit as a horse."

"I hope so.", replied the young boy.

Abal slowly ruffled his brown locks and moved to the next patient.

"Abal, no arguments I've asked Huzaifa to pick you. He'll be there in 20 minutes. Be ready."
