A/N: Chapter 3 is here! Sorry I didn't upload sooner, I've been busy.

“Y/N… Y/n, can you hear me?” I faintly heard as I was starting to wake. I groaned. “Yes, now, open your eyes.” I stayed still, eyes closed. “Please Y/N, just open your eyes.” A hand brushed against my forehead and through my hair.

“I’ll call 911,” someone said.

“No. The quickest way to get this girl help is to take her to the hospital ourselves,” someone else said. I felt as someone picked me up, but then I fell back to the darkness.

The next time I sort of woke I felt that I was somewhere else. It was much more comfortable.

“Why can’t you just heal her?” asked someone. I heard a sigh from above me.

“Because, Dean, I can not use my grace on her. It could do more harm than good.” I know that voice from somewhere… but who is it? I sighed, starting to cough. “Y/N?” Someone said. I felt a hand fall on my head, pushing the hair from my face. “Y/N, are you awake?” My coughing grew harsher. Someone sat me up, rubbing a hand up and down my back.

“Here.” As I coughed someone put something to my mouth. “Drink this.” I felt a cool liquid pour into my mouth. I drank it greedily, thirsty.

“Slow down or you’ll choke.” The water bottle suddenly left my mouth.

“How is she?” I looked around me to see that I was in a car. I looked behind me to see Castiel. He looked very concerned. I looked up front to see a man in the passenger seat turned to look at me. He also looked concerned. The man driving kept glancing in the rearview mirror. I took deep breaths to try and keep myself from having another coughing fit. I swayed a bit before Castiel pulled me back to lean against him.

“Hang in there kiddo, we’re almost to the hospital,” the man in the passenger seat said. My head started to hurt so I shut my eyes and curled in on myself. Castiel pulled me to his lap and hugged me close. I jerked towards the front of the car as the driver slammed on the brakes and jumped out of the car. The passenger opened Castiel’s door as Cas carried me out and into the hospital. I stayed quiet with my eyes closed as nurses had me placed on a gurney and rolled me away from my saving grace.

The next time I awoke it was to an annoying beeping noise. I sighed and felt around me. I could tell that I was in a bed and there was something under my right hand. My hand twitched as something applied pressure to that hand. I froze, afraid.

“It is alright Y/N, it is just me. Will you please open your eyes?” I slowly opened my eyes and blinked a few times to adjust to the lighting in the room. Someone lightly laughed from beside me. “There we go. How do you feel?” I looked to my right to see Castiel beside me, holding my hand. I tried to sit up but was hit with a sudden wave of dizziness. I fell back against the bed and made a small whining sound.

“Are you dizzy?” asked Castiel. I nodded and watched as he picked up a small styrofoam cup and handed it to me. “Here, drink this,” he says. I quickly drank the small cup of water and handed it back to him.

“Cas?” I asked, voice raspy. He raised an eyebrow.

“Yes?” he asked.

“Who were th--” I was interrupted by another coughing fit. My chest and throat hurt from the force of the coughs. Cas moved to sit next to me, patting my back. He quickly walked to the bathroom with the cup and filled it with water. He came back and placed it to my lips. He tried to pour the water into my mouth but I was coughing so hard that I ended up coughing it all down my mouth and shirt.

The coughing got so bad to the point that I was starting to gag and it was getting harder to breathe. “Doctor!” Cas yelled. Two men had quickly opened the door and stepped into the room.

“Cas, what’s wrong?” asked the one with longer hair.

“Sam, Dean, get a doctor,” Cas said from beside me. The one with long hair ran out of the room and returned not much longer with a doctor and a few nurses. They had Cas move as they tried to calm my coughing. After several minutes my coughing stopped and I could breathe again. My throat was very sore though. Cas handed me the cup of water, to which I drank the whole thing.

“What was that?” asked the man with long hair. The doctor turned to him.

“Just a painful coughing fit. Now, would you come with me?” the doctor asked. The two men followed the doctor. Castiel looked at me. I nodded. He smiled and followed them as well.

*With Castiel*

The doctor led the three men to his office, sitting behind the desk. Sam and Dean sat down in the two chairs in front of the desk. Castiel stood behind them. “So,” the doctor started. “Would you like the good news or the bad news first?”

“The good news,” Sam spoke up after having a silent eye conversation with Dean and Castiel. The doctor smiled.

“Well, the good news is that Y/N is going to be alright. She does have a slight fever, but she should be alright,” the doctor explained.

“When will we be able to take her with us?” asked Castiel. The doctor’s smile dropped a bit.

“That’s the bad news.” He shuffled around with some papers. “Y/N has no living family left that we know of. She will be sent to the orphanage unless one of you are willing to become her guardian.”

“I will,” said Cas immediately. Sam and Dean turned to him.

“Now hold on there, Cas,” Dean said. “We have to talk about this.” He turned back to the doctor. “May we have a minute?” The doctor smiled, nodding.

“Of course. I will be back in five minutes.” The doctor stood and left. The three men were alone.

“There is no debate about it, Dean. Y/N is coming with us,” Castiel argued.

“Cas, you don’t know what raising a kid is like, more or less raising a teenager,” Dean retorted.

“What do you have to say, Sam?” Cas asked as he turned to the other Winchester.

“I don’t know. I mean, we can’t take her with us. We can’t give her a life like we had,” Sam said. Cas looked shocked.

“Yes, but we can’t just let her go to some random person’s home. There are people out there who are out to kill her,” Cas responded.

“Why? What could anyone possibly want to kill that kid for?” Dean sassed, getting angry.

    “She’s special,” Cas stated.

“Why is she so special?” asked Sam.

“The reason she is special is the same reason why I can’t use my grace on her,” Cas left it at that. “She is coming with us and that is final.”

“Even if she did come with us, who would be her guardian Cas? At least one of us is constantly looking for or is on a hunt,” Dean pointed out.

“We can share the guardianship,” said Sam. The other two men turned to him.

    “What?” asked Dean.

“We can share the guardianship, the three of us. That way we can’t be held accountable if one of us is the guardian and is never there.” The doctor walked in.

“So, have you come to a decision?” he asked, sitting back down at his desk.

“Yes,” said Sam. “We all agree to split the guardianship of Y/N.”
