A Stone World: Senku x Oc (or reader)

Chapter 2

With me around now Senku and I had an easier time setting up the hut. I had even been able to make a makeshift heating system with some rocks and hardened clay. It let us bring a small fire inside the hut once it got too cold. Senku in his solitude had also had time to make a bow and about 20 arrows for me. He had so amazing with his hands and his brain being able to create all these amazing things way before it's time.

I spent most of my days hunting for materials and hunting for food. I I was able to hunt down different types of boar and deer. I had gotten really lucky one day and picked off an old bear. Out of all our materials we were able to store plenty of meat for winter and the bear was essential to our winter attire and for blankets at night. Senku had been working in his lab for the past week almost none stop and would almost never let me in. He didn't shirk his other duties but after being alone for 3700 years you would think he would have wanted some company.

We had been together for a month now and it was starting to get cold. I was still able to hunt a bit but I had started getting bored. I had gathered as much wood as I could find for the day and it was night now and I was cold and alone by the outside fire looking at the stars. It was so beautiful out. No light pollution. No sounds of the city. It was silent other then the sound of the tree branches in the wind. It was majestic. I had always loved the city but I had really grown to appreciate this new world. I had no choice but even then the acceptance made it easier. I was taking a deep breath taking in the cold when I hear the rustling of sheets. I opened my eyes to see Senku coming out of his lab. His eyes tired as he walked over to me smirking trying to hide his exhaustion.

"Sorry I took so long today." He said sitting across from me on the adjacent log.

"No big deal I just entertained my nude fantasies of you all day since I didn't have anyone to talk to." I said half jokingly. He rolled his eyes as I returned to looking up at the sky.

"Of course you did I mean how could you not." He said sarcastically. "Anything interesting up there?" He said looking at me.

"Do you ever look at the sky at night?"

"Not as much as I would have liked to these past few month." He said bluntly. "Most days I was so exhausted I was asleep before the sun came down." I chuckled lightly before I came Senku was barely surviving but since my arrival he had been able to focus on finding a cure. So he didn't exhaust himself as much. He was always in his lab figuring it out and I helped where I could but I was a more on the fly thinker then a critical thinker.

"I look up there and realize how beautiful the earth once was. Don't get me wrong technology is amazing. We had it so easy, but we destroyed the earth in the process." Senku then looked up at the sky smiling slightly.

"Yeah we did.....but this time we will do it right. I won't let the stars in the sky flicker out like they did because of light pollution."

"I hope so. I don't know what caused all this but the earth completely reset in just a couple thousand years. I want to be able to have all that technology again and look at this sky at night." Senku smiled at me slightly.

"We can do it. So get excited." I looked at him and our eyes locked. His eyes expressions determination and mine expression admiration.

"If anyone can do it it's you Senku."

"It's us. I couldn't do this without you. You have helped me in so many ways already. Thank you. I couldn't do my research If you weren't doing most of the heavy lifting so.....thanks. We are going to take back the earth so get excited!" It was rare to hear praise from Senku so truthfully it was shocking but it made me happy.

"Anything for you Senku." I said quietly before getting up and stretching yawning sleepily. "I'm gonna start the fire in the hut and then I'm going to bed." I said happily before turning on my heel and walking towards the hut. I quickly opened up the door and closed it before grabbing Senku's fire starter and getting a quick small fire together. I had just got the fire started and was bent over blowing onto the fire when Senku came in closing the door behind him. I had felt him pause a moment before stepping out from behind me pink dusting his cheeks. I had the fire all set up and it was quickly helping but it was freezing outside and I was worried about the coldness. I saw Senku's hair on his arms on end he was cold too. I looked at out blankets and pillows and looked back at Senku nervously.

"Hey Senku....?" I said twiddling my thumbs. He looked over to me as he was setting up his bed stuff.

"Hm?" I continued to twiddle my thumbs.

"Feel free to say no to this idea but since it's been getting so cold lately.....do....do you think we should sleep together?" I looked over to him to see slight shock and a smidge of doubt of his face. I put my hands up. "I promise I won't make any sexual jokes or anything! I'm just so cold at night and we can only get so close to the fire and-"

"Sure." He said plainly getting my stuff out at Well and immediately setting it up next to him.

"R-really?!" I asked excitedly. He nodded.

"We are both cold and it makes sense to seek each other's heat. Make all the sexual jokes you want it's a good idea." He said trying to look as stoic as usual. "I was about to suggest it myself." He lied. Sure e has thought about it but I'm sure he would have never had the guts to say it.

"Yeah sure you were." I joked setting up the rest of our things for the night. Senku and I were standing looking at our spots in embarrassment. I mean a girl could fantasize but I more expected him to play it off as a joke. I already felt a heat all over my body. He would probably sleep on his side and mine the other. It was fine nothing would happen..... I was about to get in not even looking at Senku when I felt him grab my wrist.

"Hey Asako." He said with a nervous inflection. I looked over at him and smiled.

"Yeah?" 

"I know I've missed it the past 3700 years and I could make you anything science related this time but...." he held out his hand and in it was a simple shell necklace. The shells iredecent as they shined in the light of the fire. It was a simple design but with the lack of technology it still would have taken time to make the thin rope for it. "Happy birthday." He said smirking to see the shock on my face. It was my birthday? I knew it was in November but I didn't even realize what today was. Every birthday Senku asked me what I wanted and every year I said the same thing. I always said something that I will know came from you. He always delivered. Something science related and thinking of all the nice things he had made me made me a little sad they didn't exist anymore. This though was an amazing gift and I held out my hand to take it.

"Senku I didn't even realize it was my birthday.....thank you." I smiled.

"Well you have seemed so stuck in your own head lately." I quickly put the necklace on and tightened the strap.

"Thank you Senku....." I said quietly. I noticed I was about to start crying to I decided to lighten the mood. "So was this all a plan to get me to sleep with you?" He chuckled.

"You suggested it."

"You said you were going to suggest it soooooooooooo we can sleep naked if you want." I smirked at him.

"It's a little to early to be working on procreation." He said smirking back. I winked at him before laying down on my side.

"Who said it wasn't for recreational purposes?" He rolled his eyes again before laying down next to me.

"Your going to be the death of me." He said as we quickly both succumbed to sleep on our opposite sides.
