Veronica hopper, is the second daughter of Jim Hopper, Hawkins chief of police.

Dustin followed Steve quickly up the cellar steps after Robin grabbed Ronnie a change of clothes so she could shower and get the blood and gunk off of her, now they were in search of Joyce hoping she could help the girl who he looked at as an older sister.
Steve unlocked his car and they both got in speeding off to the Byers place praying that the older woman would be home she usually was but if by chance she wasn't they didn't know what they'd do.
Dustin wasn't really concerned about steves hectic driving he just wanted to get there fast. Once they pulled up into their driveway he immediately jumped out of the car running up the porch screaming as he knocked on the door.
"Mrs Byers!!! Mrs Byers it's important we need your help!!" He screamed as Steve scrambled out of the car and up to the younger boy trying to shush him and calm him down before he had a nervous breakdown and woke the whole neighborhood. Little did they know that Joyce was over at Mr. Clarke's house asking him about her magnet issue.
Meanwhile -
Robin had picked the lock to Dustin's backdoor luckily his mom was out so she was able to get Ronnie in the shower and help her get washed off and into new clean dry clothes.
She knew how much the red head meant to Steve and the group she had also seen how much the girl had seemingly turned the hardass that was Billy Hargrove into a softy. "You okay now Veronica..?" She hesitantly asked looking down at her as she carried over a glass of hot chocolate.
Ronnie looked up from the fire over at the short blonde headed girl blinking slowly "I- yeah.. I'm fine thank you.. for helping me shower and for borrowing the clothes.."

Robin smiled softly and handed her the cup of the warm liquid, and grabbed the hair brush she brought and carefully brushed the knots out of the red heads hair as they sat by the fireplace. "Any friend of Steve and his weird children friends are a friend of mine. It will be nice having an older girl around Steve gets kind of boring sometimes."
Veronica slightly smiled at that, she hadn't realized how long she had truly been away at Sisters of Quiet Mercy. She felt something off in Hawkins the rats..last she remembered rats weren't supposed to seize up and explode.
She heard two car doors slam and jumped at the sound pulling away from robin, wrapping the blanket tighter around her as Dustin cane running in with Steve behind him.
"Ronnie! Thank god you're cleaned up thanks robin! We couldn't find Mrs Byers. She wasn't home" Dustin said out of breath as he stepped closer to her careful not to spook her.
"Yeah red, looks like you're stuck with us for the night." Steve chuckled taking a seat on the couch "we have to be at the mall pretty early tomorrow though for our shift at scoops."
Ronnie looked at him confused "the..mall?? Hawkins doesn't have a mall since when..?" Dustin gave her a sympathetic look "a little while after you left Rons it's huge and it's totally awesome you're gonna love it!"
Steve gave Dustin a look as if to say tone it down a little bit since it was really late and she was still probably a bit scared.
Veronica looked around spacing out a bit "something isn't right..the rats they.." Dustin looked at her confused "rats? What rats?"
Veronica shook her head "nothing never mind it must just be my mind playing tricks on me. So you didn't find Mrs Byers..?" She asked quietly
Steve shook his head as Robin gently placed a hand on her back "no red she wasn't home we don't know where her or Hopper have been the past few days.."
Veronica's head snapped up at the mention of her dad "My dad? Is he okay? How's El and the rest of the kids are they fine? Are they safe?" She rambled with wild eyes scrambling to get up but robin held a grip on her not wanting to see her new friend have another mental breakdown.
Dustin wacked Steve hard on the arm "Dude!!" Steve flinched away rubbing his arm "I'm sorry! You're dad's fine! I'm sure he's just with Joyce, the kids and el are fine they've been hanging out a bunch since Dustin's been at camp."
Veronica looked at him warily she had so many questions running through her mind but she was feeling really really tired. She felt Robin pull her closer letting the red head lay against her, she could tell how worked up and wore out tonight's events had gotton to the girl as she slowly fell asleep.
Dustin watched as Ronnie slowly closed her eyes going to sleep finally. He glanced at her and Robin before looking at Steve then the floor "what are we gonna do? We can't tell hopper about her being back if Ronnie is right about something going on in Hawkins that would just complicate things. I think we should let her stay with the Party and try and find out where joyce and hopper went."
Steve thought it over and looked at Robin to see if she was on board with the idea the Curley headed kid had "I think it's the best idea we got, that would keep Ronnie occupied with the kids while we try and find Hopper and Joyce."
Robin nodded agreeing "I think it's best, we'll have el and max come over tomorrow to get her and take her out and we can ask around at work."
Dustin nodded "good it's settled. You two can leave now, Ronnie has a spare room here just help me get her up there and then you guys can go home." He said getting up
Steve nodded gently scooping up the older red head had she gotten lighter since the last time he seen her it didn't seem right as he carried her upstairs to her room that she had at the Henderson house from babysitting Dustin so much. He laid her down on the bed covering her up before turning the light out gently closing the door heading back downstairs.
"I'll meet you at scoops tomorrow after the girls come and get her Okay? Okay. Now leave" Dustin said pushing Steve and Robin towards the door.
What they didn't know was Hawkins was about to get much much worse, with the threat of not only the Mind flayer cominh back, but also Evil Russians.. and what about how Veronica seemingly appeared out of thin air back into Hawkins..? Time is of the essence. And so is everyone's safety.
