James' P.O.V.:
After a stern elderly witch led us outside the great hall, she left us. I was extremely on edge. All of the guys were openly staring at what was soon to be my wife.
She was seemingly oblivious, which I was thankful for to no end.
Soon the doors to the great hall opened magically, and we were led inside by the same witch. I didn't even give the hall a second glance; I only had eyes for her.
I tuned out once the sorting began, that is until Dez's name was called. Looking up, I saw herself glide serenely to the three-legged stool were she was to be sorted like the others via the hat.
After five and 1/2 minutes, the hat called "Gryffindor!" I definitely wanted to be in Gryffindor now, as did seemingly the rest of the male population. Scowling at the thought, it was my turn before I noticed.
"Is that Harry Potter's son," someone stupidly murmured. And that was one of the more intelligent things I heard.
Before the hat fell over my eyes completely, I winked over at the Gryffindor table in Dez's direction. Though she briefly met my eye looking confused, she quickly turned to talk to the lucky third year boy next to him, studiously ignoring me. I was immediately sorted into Gryffindor, of course.
taking the hat off of my head, I sauntered over to the cheering Gryffindor table. When I couldn't catch her eye, I jammed myself between her and another unknown girl who had been sorted just before me. I turned to my left to see that the third year was eyeing her with adoration as she was going on and on about her Mum.
I don't think that he heard a word coming from her rosy lips, though I wouldn't blame her.
"So that is why I think it is better if we start out as friends and go from there," she concluded, oblivious to him staring openly at her cheast.
"I'm willing to be your friend, as long as you give me a chance," he said.
"Wonderful! Than you may have the title as my first friend at Hogwarts Oliver Wood the Third," she said.
"Great! And as your first and soon to be indispensable best friend, I will give you the grand tour of the castle tomorrow." Why couldn't she see that he was flirting with her?!?!
"I put my hand around her waist, and practically pulled Dez onto my lap, much to her chagrin. She wriggled, trying to get off. Wrong move.
Before I even knew what I was doing, my lips moved of their own accord, and I was soon attempting to kiss her. I felt like I was in a fog. All that I knew was that I would do anything to impress her. Kill for her, even.
I was brought back to reality by a resoundingly sharp slap. Rubbing my stinging cheek, I was soon back in reality. Every guy from first to fifth year were openly shooting me daggers.
What was wrong with me? I was usually so much smother around girls...she must not know how to control her Veela powers yet.
Desiree's P.O.V.:
This is exactly what I had been afraid would happen! I scooped as far as I could from Potter, to be met with a solid wall of muscle. Apparently our one-sided heavy make-out session had effected my new friend, Oliver, along with my powers.
"Would you like me to sit in between you and this little boy," Oliver asked, jealousy and anger visibly warring for dominance across his handsome face.
"Please," I replied fervently. Before Potter could protest, I graceful rose from my seat, and switched sides, so that Oliver was now between us. I realized that the ceremony had ended, when I looked next to me to see a laughing Roxie on my other side, clutching her sides and laughing openly at my expression.
"Hey Roxie!"
"Hey Dez! How was your snog session," she snickered at me.
Luckily, the food appeared on the golden plates. Taking this as an opportunity to ignore the question, I reached for some apple cider and poured my self some in the crystal cup. I then piled my plate with couscous and Mediterranean salad and got myself a small cup of pumpkin soup.
"So. You should meet Lily and the other wealey girls over the summer at my house. My Dad, George Weasley owns a joke-shop in diagon alley, so we can visit there. We have to get together over the holidays," she blabbered on and on.
"Will Potter be there?"
"Well yeah. He is my cousin," she casually replied. "But we will have more girls to protect you. I even have part veela cousins, my Uncle Bill's daughters and son."
"How big is your family," incredulous.
"Um...you know, I'll have to count." Openly horrified at the idea of not knowing how much family she had, I visibly widened my eyes.
"So will you?"
"What?"
"Come over. Duh!"
"Only for a few days. I already promised Olly that we would spend a week together at his place during the break..."
Looking over my shoulder, she pointed to Oliver. "Him..?"
"Yup," I said, popping the 'P'.
She squealed in my ear playfully."You will have to make up for it by telling the girls and I all about it!"
"We are just friends..."
"Well from the look of him he would like---"
"We are just friend," reassured her.
"For now, she mumbled," a twinkle in her dark eyes.
