In full costume, makeup done to perfection, I stood in front of the raging party. Kallan and I just glanced at each other as at least a hundred teens piled into the mansion in front of us. It was no shocker this party was thrown by the notorious Jack Michaelson, who's fourth of July party was still being talked about. Rumor has it his family always goes on business trips and leaves him alone and as a way to get back at them (or maybe try and get their attention), he throws huge Great Gatsby parties.

Holding Kallan's hand, we walked into the party, loud music immediately assaulted our ears and the smell of alcohol invaded my nose. I glanced at Kallan and noticed how hot he was looking, with smudged black eyeliner and the loose white shirt. He smiled at me and I blushed at the glances he was making at my outfit. Let's just say if my father saw me in this dress, he would demand I throw a jacket and pants on over it.

A few minutes into the party, Kallan got called over by his soccer buddies and was quick to ditch me as he ran over, accepting a solo cup of beer from them. I was never one for alcohol and decided I wanted at least one of us to stay sober tonight so we could get home safely. I sighed and walked to the kitchen, seeing if they had any water or if there was maybe someone I knew. It wasn't uncommon for Kallan to get excited and ditch me at parties, but I always knew he would come back to me.

I started thinking about Kallan's odd behavior lately, it seemed almost like he was bored around me. I tried to blame it on school and soccer but what if he was bored with me? I shook those thought out of my head and grabbed a water. Of course Kallan loved me, and of course he wasn't bored, if anything he was stressed.

"KrazyKath!" I heard being yelled from behind me. I turned to see a very intoxicated Drew stumble up to me, with a laughing Marcus behind him. "What's up guys!" I said as I hugged Drew and Marcus. "Oh, I'm just here babysitting this drunkard." Marcus replied, slapping Drew on the back, making him tip over slightly. "I'm not dressed as a drunkard, I'm a vampire." Drew slurred, hissing dramatically as he flung his cape behind him, baring a pair of plastic glow in the dark fangs. I laughed at the mess in front of me, turning to Marcus to see he was clearly a classic surf guy, decked out in a pair of Hurley board shorts and carrying a boogey board.

"Where's Eugene?" I wondered out loud. Marcus just gave a dramatic sigh and replied, "Oh, he is too cool for us all. He took his younger brother trick or treating and he told me he's getting 40% of the goodies his brother gets since he agreed to drive around his brother and his friends. Apparently, it's cool for kids to get driven in the back of a truck or something, shows they're elite." I laughed and my heart warmed at the thought of Eugene taking out his 8 year old brother for the night.

I spotted a colorful Rebecca come over to me and hug me.
"Oh girl you are so cute! Steampunk is so edgy and you!" I laughed and glanced at her attire. "Thanks! Err, and you are?" She grinned and spun around showing off her bright colored tutu and glittered shirt. Her hair was pulled extremely tightly into a high ponytail topped with a gigantic bow. "I'm Jojo Siwa! The greatest kid millionaire of all time." I let out a snort and grinned as an intoxicated Drew wrapped his arms around her from behind. She spun around and kissed him smack on the lips much to my surprise. I guess I was so wrapped up in my relationship, I totally forgot about Rebecca and Drew. Marcus cheered and Rebecca laughed as she dragged a blushing Drew to the dance floor. Marcus dramatically set his board down and held out his hand. "Shall we dance, M'lady?" I giggled and grabbed his hand, spinning around as we danced among a hundred other teens, doing random moves and laughing loudly whenever we bumped into each other or caught Drew slip and fall on Rebecca.

After an hour of dancing with my friends, I decided to get a drink and find Kallan. I didn't see him on the dance floor or with his soccer team so I decided to check up on him and see if he was alright. He usually would have found me by now.
