The last thing I remember was talking to James and Jenny about Cody. It was the next morning and I was dreading getting up for school. It was almost 30 degrees fahrenheit outside and all I wanted to do was curl up on the couch and watch my favorite Christmas movie Elf and drink hot cocoa.
But no, I had to go to school and see Cody.
“Wait,” I thought “Why was he the 1st person I thought about?” I shook my head and got out of bed. I walked straight to the bathroom and got in the shower. I walked out, put on my fancy outfit of skinny jeans, a gray T-shirt and a red flannel tied around my waist. I brushed my brownish hair and put it in a awkward braid. I cannot braid to save my life. I did my makeup which was mascara, eyeliner, and today a dab of red lipstick. I looked at me in my full length mirror and approved my self-appearance. I grabbed my bag, put my converse on, grabbed my jacket and hurried down the stairs
“James and Jenny I’m leaving now if you come down now I’ll stop by starbucks!” And of course my idiotic sister hurried down the stairs. “I got a ride from Blake!” called James. Blake was my brothers best friend since kindergarden. “Ok lets go.” said
“I’ll get 2 white peppermint mochas please.” White peppermint mochas were the best things ever. I got my drinks then turned around… and bumped into someone.
“You b****! You spilled your drink on me!”
Then he looked at me
“Jess?”
“Uhh I’m soo sorry Cody I’ll go get some napkins.” I turned around. “No it’s ok.” he said. “No no, let me just go grab some.” I said. He put one hand on my shoulder and butterflies fluttered in my stomach as he was touching me. Wait what where did that come from? “It’s ok I mean it I’ll be fine.” he said and gave me a real smile not that cheesy fake grin that he often wore at school. “Let me buy you another drink.”he offered. “No it’s fine I don’t really need it.” I nicely declined and hurried out of Starbucks.
“What took you so long?”asked Jenny. “Where are our drinks?” “Our drinks are on Cody Bails jacket I bumped into him and accidentally spilled our drinks on him.” “You what!” she exclaimed. “He said it was fine and he offered to buy me another drink but i said no.” “Why?’ asked Jenny. “Does there have to be an answer for everything?” I asked “Yes if it involves Cody, you guys are totally getting married, I cant wait to tell your kids how you guys met. Your mom spilled a white peppermint mocha on your dad.” “Stop it.” I said blushing.
The bell rang as soon as I got to history class. 10 minutes later Cody walked in. “And where were you Mr.Bails?” “Well if you want to know I was making out with my girlfriend.” Haha that idiot, he means the girl of the day. He couldn’t stick with one girl for even a day. It was someone new every single day. But most of the time is was the queen b**** Kendall Jamerson. “Please have a seat.” said Mrs.Rogers. “Fancy meeting you here.” he said looking at me. “Well unlike you I actually get to class on time.” Even after he lowered his voice, the starbucks thing. “Is that what we are calling it now?” I asked laughing. “Anyways about the project,” I said “Remember my house and bring a video camera i got an idea.” “Alright.” he said and brought his attention back to Mrs.Rogers lecture about the american revolution. It was going to be a long day.
The bell had finally rung… for lunch half the day was over. “Jess, Jess, Jess.” Eva said walking up to me. “Eva Eva Eva.” I said mimicking her. I loved my only friend. “Did you hear that Cody took the matching test?” Yeah so.” I said not sure where she was going with this. “So he might be your match!” Eva said excitedly. As if out of the school Cody would be my match, we have nothing in common.
