Once Chiaki was finished, Mikan redressed his wounds and helped him dress into clothes Shigure lended. The robes were big on him, making him flail his arms around to flop the sleeves.
"These are so silky!" He exclaimed, rubbing his hands all over the soft fabric.
"That's because they are silk, silly." Mikan said, smiling cheerfully. The boys excitement filled her with joy.
   "Shigure is rich!" Chiaki exclaimed.
"I suppose!" Mikan laughed. "Now sit, sit!" She patted Chiaki on his shoulder. He sat on a stool in front of her. She began to brush his soft black hair, avoiding his ears.
"Your hair is really quite straight, isn't it? A bath is just what you needed, I think. It was a mess before!" She rambled. "It's long, too. What say I cut it for you tomorrow?" Chiaki nodded.
"I'd like that." He replied, still rubbing the fabric.
   Mikan stood up suddenly.
"Oh dear, I nearly forgot! Master Shigure wanted us to join him for lunch! Come on, let's go get Emiko!" She exclaimed in a hurry. She ran out of the room. Chiaki stood, following close behind her. They went back to the room Emiko was sleeping into see her barely waking up. She rubbed her eyes and looked around. She lit up as soon as she spotted Chiaki.                                                             "Chiaki!" She squealed, running over. She looked him up and down. "Wow! You look so fancy!" She cried. She reached up and pet his head, making him close his eyes in contentment. "Your hair is so soft too! I would have never guessed! You look handsome!                                                               Chiaki scratched his cheek, flushing. The wave of compliments were too much for him. "Ahaha...thank you..." He sighed.                                                                                                                                       "Emiko, we must go meet your father for lunch." Mikan said.                                                                            "Okay! Come on, Chiaki, let's go see papa!" Emiko exclaimed, grabbing Chiaki's hand. Everything felt sparkly to him for a moment. What was this feeling? She tugged on him, pulling him out of his daze. "Come on, slow poke!"                                                                                                                  "Okay, okay!" He said, following her. They arrived in a cozy room with a long table in the center. Maidens were seated all around it. It was covered in plates of food. It was enough to make Chiaki want to cry with joy. He used to just steal food from the village or scavenge in the forest to prevent from starving. This was a treasure mine.                                                                                     Shigure was seated at the head of the table, three seats empty near him. His long black hair was out of it's ponytail. The maidens all stared at Chiaki as soon as he stepped into the room. Some were curious, but most of them were nervous just like Mikan first was. Chiaki looked down at the ground shyly, gripping Emiko's hand. Too many people. Emiko looked at him and gave him a smile, which made him feel a little better.
