The Choice // Jack Gilinsky

Chapter Twelve

Claire and I woke up and I drove her to school since she doesn't have her own car. We got to school and went to my locker, which was right next to Jack's so I wasn't surprised to see him there. "Hey Gilinsky" I said when I got to him I saw his amazing smirk when he turned around "Hey Roberts" he said pulling me into him by my hips and planting a kiss on my lips. I pulled away after a couple of seconds "It's a good thing I told Claire last night or this would have been awkward" he laughed "Yeah, I figured that when you guys walked up together that she had spent the night and obviously you had to tell her about how great I am" he winked at the end and I punched his arm "Oh shut up Gilinsky" the bell rang and we went our separate ways to classes.

~skip to after school~

I saw Gilinsky waiting for me at the front of the school and I walked up to him angrily "Can we please go get high right now and then you spend the night at my house?" I said looking up at him frustrated "Whatever you want babe" he said grabbing my hand and walking me to my car I followed him to his house so he could leave his car there. He grabbed the weed from his car and hopped into my car and we drove to our secret pond. He sat down next to me and handed me the blunt "I think you need it more than me so you can go first" I anxiously grabbed it from him and took a long deep inhale of it handing it back over to him "So what's wrong?" He said scooting closer to me "It's Thomas" I saw Jacks jaw stiffen.

FLASHBACK

"Thomas I know your cheating on me and I don't care what you have to say but I can't live in a relationship like this and I think it's better if we just stop seeing each other and stop talking all together" the tears were starting to fall down my cheek as I watched his face flood with anger "Did you just accuse me of cheating on you" I nodded too afraid to speak "How dare you, you know Amy I thought you were a great girlfriend and I was enjoying our relationship but you just accused me of something I didn't do and it is taking all my will power not to slam your head into these lockers so you better walk away from me right now and don't even dare make eye contact with me ever again bitch" I saw his clenched fists and I ran away as fast as I could scared that he was behind me. I went to a bench at the front of the school and sat down letting all the tears out. When Jack saw me he ran up to me and just let me cry into his shoulder until I was able to tell him what happened. His first instinct was to fight but I begged him to promise me that he wouldn't. "I won't fight him but I swear to God that if he ever bothers you in any way again I'm going to kill him". From the anger I could see in his face I knew that he meant it.

END FLASHBACK

"What did that asshole do" he said through clenched teeth "I went to the bathroom during class and on my way back I saw him so I just looked down and he came over to me and tilted my head up to his and he said 'baby I miss you' and I stayed silent and then he slapped my face and said 'I'm fucking talking to you I still love you now say it back bitch' and I said 'please Thomas just let me go back to class' and he had a sinister grin and said 'but then I wouldn't be able to do this' and he forced his lips onto mine and then groped my ass and I pushed him away and ran down the hall into a different bathroom" I didn't know at what point I started crying but as soon as I was finished telling the story my tears were out of control. Jack tilted my chin up so that I could look at him, he wiped away some of my tears and then said "I won't ever let him hurt you again" I smiled and then put my head on his shoulder "I love you Gilinsky and I don't know how I got so lucky to have you" "I love you too Roberts" he kissed the top of my head when he said it.

We smoked for a couple more minutes and then drowned each other in perfume, Cologne, breath mints, and eye drops. It was 4:30 when we got home and we went straight to the kitchen and raided the pantry for any good food. We grabbed some snacks and then sat down at the table.
I heard my mom come through the front door, my sisters went to their room and my mom came into the kitchen "One of you either had a really good day or a really bad day" she said, obviously un oblivious to to our large amounts of body sprays and increased hunger, I raised my hand "Yep, it was me. I had a shitty day." She sat down across from Jack and I "What happened?" "I went to the bathroom during class and on my way back I saw Thomas and just looked down hoping he wouldn't see me but he ran over to me and was like 'oh baby I miss you' and I didn't reply and he slapped me and then was like 'come on I love you don't you miss me?' and I said 'please Thomas I have a boyfriend' and then he kissed me and started trying to make out with me and then grabbed my ass and I eventually pushed him off and ran to another bathroom" half way through my story Jack put his hand on my thigh and rubbed his thumb over it careful to not let my mom see us from the other side of the table "You told him you had a boyfriend?" my mom asked very confused, my heart froze and Jack's thumb stopped rubbing my thigh but I quickly came up with an excuse "Yeah because I know he doesn't have respect for women but I thought maybe he would have respect for another guy" she nodded her head and Jack and I silently sighed in relief "Do you want me to get in touch with the principle and tell him what happened?" She said only trying to do the best thing for me "NO!" I yelled a little to forcefully "I'd rather just work harder to avoid him without getting the school authority involved" "Fair enough" she turned to Jack "And how does this make you feel seeing that you are her best friend." "Well, I've hated the guy since I found out he cheated on Amy and if I didn't want to smash his head in before then I definitely want to now!" he said with a sinister smirk, my mom smiled "I'm glad to know that Amy is in good hands at school" Jack squeezed my thigh when she said that and I had to hide my yelp "Gilinsky and I are going to go to my room we have some studying to do" I said suddenly anxious to be alone with Jack "ok, I'll call you when dinner is ready" Jack and I stood up and went to my room, as soon as I closed my bedroom door Jack forced his lips onto mine.
