You keep stepping on my shoe.

As slightly endearing as that is-- we're close enough to do that now?-- you do it every day, and I can't not be annoyed.

I let out some sort of a growl as I struggle to yank my trapped foot out from under yours. You laugh, loud. You have no physical strength, do you.

My mind goes momentarily blank, then bitterness and anger bubble up in my chest.

I don't need to be reminded. I consider saying so, but I've learned of your stubbornness as well as how dense you can be, and put together with your physical abilities I decide it a lost cause. Tamping down my anger, I laugh a little and relax. Whatever. You win.

The bitterness doesn't leave.
