-Flashback

You could hear soft and hurtful sobs filling an open window hospital room. A little girl by the age of 8 weeps covering her eyes with her bangs as she felt a storm of negative emotions.

'Dirty'

'Filthily'

'Disgusting.'

It wasn't until a slim shadow was already standing tall inside the room with her. Gazing down at her weeping body. When she slowly raised her head as if she knew why this thing was here. Until asking in a small voice, "If..... you're going to eat.....me.....then.....please get it over with...." There was no shred of hope left. Nothing but wanting to end this horrible nightmare of hers overflowing out of her through her tears. Only the shadow made no such moments. It watched as her tears dropped on the sheets, "But.....if you aren't.....please...just stay with me.....I...I'm too.....scared to close my eyes.....I.....don't wanna see that image again...."

Forming an arm the shadow softly wipe her almost fallen tear off her cheek. The smell of rotten flesh and dried up blood and a long claw-like nail glade upon her cheek. The voice that was once uncaring, cold, but mostly entrained....just gazed down at the small girl. Her eyes were on the edge of losing all hope. As if......it was done living. And.....for some odd....strange reason....even though he watched it all. Enlightened by the wickedness of humans, seeing this victim....this small....broken light victim. Asking to just put her out of its misery.....a foul taste grew in its hungry throat.

Even he knows when not to kick a horse any more than it already is down....however it finally felt a tiny grip on its black shadow. "Do....you want me......to stay....with you that much?"

"Yes.....please....I-I.....don't want to sleep alone in the dark....not.....after....that...." It was a weak, fragile voice. As if any longer if it was left in silence and it will break and shatter. So, the dark shadow stroke her hair "Then.....if it helps. I will watch in the dark for you.....just go to sleep."

She did what she was told even though she thought it would be a lie she laid her head on the pillow when she felt something stroking her head. She could pick up a faint scent of an odd odor, it made her think of gym class. But it was very different but then again she is still a child. If she knew what this shadow was hiding even she would want a shower after knowing where its razor-sharp claws had been. Yet.....strangely she felt safe. As if the monsters that were swimming around in this white-painted room were somehow intimidated to move closer. For they knew, the real threat was guarding her weak small body.

"T-thank.....than......k.....you....."

*GASP*

Suddenly (Y/n) jump out of the sheets with her body breathing in and out as if watching a movie and holding your breath underwater while she watched it, and finally coming up for air as she had no idea what in the world was that!?

What in the world did she see?? So many questions were filling up in her brain, but the biggest question she asked out loud. "Why.....does that hand.....feel so.....familiar......as if I have known it.....before......" It wasn't until she saw how Richard was snuggling closer in his sleep to her, she smiled as she pets his head. It's so strange he is a ghost yet she can feel the very hair ticking her fingertips.

But then she remembered, 'Oh......that's right.....this isn't my body. It's someone.....else.......' How long has it been since she has felt something that was hers!? True. She can feel someone's touch, but......That's all it was.....a touch. There is no warmth, no clamminess, or sweat. She felt less and less more human with each day. But she still held onto hope. Because that's all she can think of right now. 'Hold on a little longer. And know..... you're not alone. Right...I have people who are listening.....and who do care.' She moved back down onto the bed, as she snuggled Richard closer.
