Chapter 15

Detective Lucifer P.O.V.

I did my best to obey the speeding law

As we drove through the curvy roads, I decide how to best propose this situation I got myself in with her

At the red traffic light, I glanced to my right to observe her

Her silky hair lays perfectly in place on her shoulders, the pen dress still seems in tact, and the cherry blooms fills the car up

She's in pain and I know for sure she is

The pain she endured at Blissful Heights was a mess

Those pills making her forgetful is what's causing me stress right now

You're on the run with a patient from a psychiatric hospital I tell myself over and over in my diseased mind

"Karuna?"

"Mhm?"

"I was framed and I'll tell you the story," I tell her.

I could see from the corner of my eyes she straightens her spine and looked directly at me

"You won't be coming with to the court session Detective Lucifer," spoke Chief Alan.

"And why not? I need to be there," I said as I walked by him to my small desk with piles of paper scattered around.

"Detective Honey and I decided you should take on a different mission for us," Chief Alan said while slightly lowering his voice.

"Different mission?"

The chief was being strange as he scanned the police department area before he walked to pad my broad shoulders slowly

With every bounce on his hands, I felt strange feelings of hotness around the area he was padding

"Yes, we need to go speak to her," he said with a side grin.
