I was lost. Had no idea what to do. I walked around like I was a lost puppy in a place i should've known where everything was. A voice inside my head kept telling me it was going to be fine, but was it?

"Hey, (Y/N), what's the deal with you and lover boy?" A boy with curly dark brown hair approached me.

"I'm sorry, am I supposed to know you or...?"

"Are you seriously gonna act that way?" He said, clearly starting to get frustrated.

"I-I don't know you." I stuttered. He wouldn't break eye contact for a second. it was like he was staring into my soul. "Hello?" I call out once more.

"Is this some kind of jo-"

"Leave her alone, Michael." a familiar voice says from behind me. "It's only monday."

Why does that name sound so familiar? But it brought a sad feeling, almost?

"Oh, hey Dante." I wave shyly.

"Hey," He smiled.

"Barf," Michael's eyes rolled to the back of his head as he opened his mouth and pointed into it.

"uhh, you good?" I say. I heard Dante softly chuckle at my works.

"i'll be good when you stop being a bitch and pretending you don't know me."

Dante and I looked at each other, then looked back at Michael.

"Michael, I actually lost my memory two weekend ago. that's why i wasn't at school at all last week, cuz i was in the hospital. That's also why my birthday party was canceled." I said calmly.

"Fuck this," He threw his arms up in the air and turned to walk away.

"Wow." I say, watching him as he went down the hall.

"Just incase your wondering, that's what he was like before your head injury too." Dante and I both laughed.

"Wanna walk to class with me?" He asked. I nod and we make our way to our next class side by side.

"So,um, my mom told me we used to date the other day." I mutter, trying to break the silence.

"Yeah.."

"Why did it end?"

"Well...it's a long story. Maybe I can tell you later." He lowered his voice.

"Did it end cuz of me?" I ask, looking down at my hands. He glanced down at me, not saying a word as he stared into my eyes. He thought for a minute before saying, "No, no," and shook his head.

"So then was it because of you?" I continued to ask.

"No, because of someone who was jealous. Well, numerous people, actually." He cleared his throat.

I'm never gonna get this out of this dude, I mentally facepalmed.

We sat together during history and Dante helped me out since i had forgotten everything we learned and missed like a week of more.

"So, do you understand?"

"...No." I stare blankly at the worksheet in front of me. It was clear that he was frustrated, but his expression made me giggle:

"What are you laughing at?" He snickered.

"How cute you are when you're mad," I winked, his cheeks instantly shifting to a fire truck red.

"I'm not mad," He defended.

"I beg to differ."

I then switched my focus to the teacher talking, but could still Dante starring at my side profile in the corner of my eye.

"Each of you with assign yourself with a partner for your project about ancient Rome. The max is two people, and if any of you aren't doing your work with your group, I will split you up myself. Capeesh?"

"Capeesh," students repeated the teachers words.

"Wanna have the honor of being my partner, Mr. Albidone?"

Dante snapped out of his gaze and back into reality.

"S-sure," He stuttered.

"Coolio, see you at your house later tonight to work on it?" I said, packing up my stuff before the bell could ring.

"Yeah, sure." He agreed, not moving from his seat.

"Kk! Bye, Dante." I smiled as I walked over to the classroom door. I could hear his faint "Bye" in the background.
